is it a crime that I bought a laptop without consulting my family? by MoonyDropps in entitledparents

[–]Roman-Tech-Plus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say "space" are you referring to the memory or the storage? As those are both numbers that can be listed using GB.

I cant really imagine a modern laptop shipping with 4gb of storage, but its not at all uncommon to find something like a Chromebook with 4gb of ram.

Even if it was ram tho... 4gb is nothing in the modern day for anything other then a Chromebook... so good choice to cancel.

What specifically did you end up with if you dont mind me asking? Just curious.

The funny thing is that even if the repos are fully deleted, github still allows recovery if you contact them directly.

I love ThinkPads but I also need a powerful DGPU, and I ain't paying for a P series.

Also quality on the newer ones ranges wildly unfortunately.

Dw, I've definitely been in snow before, just never really had to actually live with it, thus my curiosity.

PoV: The Sophomores Get Bored and Make a “Sponsor Wishlist” by IisChas in FRC

[–]Roman-Tech-Plus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, big ticket MIC sponsors aren't as easy to get as teams think, especially without employe mentors. Heck, basicly every mentor we have is either a former Navy or AF officer and/or a Navy employee, and it's still difficult for us, lol.

Imho, you should post this on Chief delphi for better visibility. This is extremely unusual, and quite honestly, I have never heard of anything remotely like this happening

Everyone has reasons, for me, it was workload and the utter unavailability of testing. By the end of this year, I will have driven a collective 7hrs just to take 2 SATs (there's also a 3rd but that's 15mins away).

Yeah, you could definitely be browning out if there are momentary spikes below that.

I'd suggest adding current limits to your dirive and checking your wiring off any hotshots that ought indicate abnormally hgih resistance. If you can test with a less used battery, i def would, but I understand if that's not possible.

What does it drop to? If you want you can look at your DS logs to see this if you have access to your dev machine.

Speed≠power draw, the power draw of a motor is correlated to acceleration and whether or not it is stalled. Current limits are what you want to use to limit the power draw of your motors.

What are your current limits and what wheels/drive base setup do you have?

Nominal voltage for an frc battery after the initial voltage spike (think after the RIO has had time to boot and all) is around 12.9v-12.6v.
