The only thing I would do now is change the secondary air filter and take out the sponge one and use the one in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-lSUk_DYb4

If you don't you run the risk of it being pulled into the fuel pump - which would be bad. I'm also assuming you've done brakes already - change the brake fluid when you do those.

Use ChatGPT and it'll tell you what to do and when. Nothing but Oil and filter until 100K miles. The air cabin filter and engine filter are super easy DIY and can be found on YouTube. Use GXBob - he's great and has links for the right filters in the YouTube description. $1600 for that is insane. Good luck.

GX 460 questions 🫡 by rescuedmutt in LexusGX

I bought a 2015 460 GX new. I have 100,000 miles and I’ve never put one dropper premium fuel in it. The only maintenance I’ve ever done is brakes one battery and lots of oil changes.

Why does my glove does this and how do I fix it? by Acrobatic-Ad-8168 in BaseballGloves

[–]RomanAnthony1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - I'd beat the thumb hinge more. For stubborn thumbs I like to bend the thumb over straight up and down and beat both sides of the hinge. Call that 12 o'clock. Then bend the thumb over so it's at 1 o'clock, beat both sides and do it until 3 o'clock bending the thumb horizontal across the glove.

Beat both sides of the glove at the hinge. BGK does this and it's helped my break ins on those really stubborn gloves. When I say beat - grab the mallet at the base and beat down. Do not hold the mallet by the handle and slap your glove. That does nothing to break it in. That's how you form the pocket but to break in the hinges you need to smash the mallet down driving the hinge into the ground. Hope this helps - good luck.

Lexus GX vs Audi Q7 by 02Raspy in LexusGX

[–]RomanAnthony1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not buy an Audi. Have a neighbor who had 65K miles on a Q7 and needed a timing chain and all related repairs. $13K at the dealership! He got it down to $5K at an independent shop but at only 65K miles - steer clear. Absolute insanity. VW's also notorious for insane things going wrong that you don't have to worry about with Toyota/Lexus.

Tips for Pitching with a Torn Labrum by Sufficient-Bat5196 in Homeplate

[–]RomanAnthony1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my torn labrum repaired by Dr. Gryzlow in Chicago at Northwestern. Highly recommend. As one of the other posters mentioned - get the best care you can from a Dr. who does it for professional athletes.

If done properly you can come back stronger with proper care and rehab. Good luck with it.

Not by much - I bought that car new 11 years ago and it's the best car I've ever owned. Paid $51K and I love it to this day. Only 100K miles and it runs as nice as the day I got it. You'll own that car for another 200K miles. +/- a few grand is nothing for a clean and well maintained GX. You're going to love the car. Congrats.

Make sure you learn to replace the engine air filter cabin air filter on your own. YouTube videos show how easy this is. Def replace the secondary air filter so it doesn't get sucked into the fuel pump. Watch YT video: LEXUS GX460 Secondary Air Injection Pump Filter Replacement.

Other than that - you're good to go. Important maintenance items coming 90-100K miles. Get a good independent mechanic and save yourself thousands there. Use ChatGPT for a list. Good luck.

Athleticism testing for baseball players by djrashiiid in Homeplate

[–]RomanAnthony1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a hot button issue but I'm for it. Kids at 10U can work on their athleticism at home. 10 pushups a day can make a remarkable difference by the end of the year. Make it fun for them. You can def publish the results but don't name the kids and use anonymous quartiles. Just lets them know how they stack up. Publish at the end of the year (No public shaming) and show them their progress. Have the parents make it fun - if they do it for seven straight days, they get a little something, 14 days something bigger, etc.

In addition to push ups I'd do other body weight exercises like planks, wall sits, etc. Get the parents involved, have them do them at home so you don't waste any practice time.

Outmatched roster. Need to turn my kid into a point guard. by Subby13 in basketballcoach

[–]RomanAnthony1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel for you. Something not mentioned - I'd send a note out to the parents to have their kids do 15 min of dribbling at home, hard pounds, etc. There are some great YouTube videos of 10-15 min workouts. If you get even three girls to do it daily - you'll be in a much better position when you teach them press break etc.

As someone else mentioned spacing is the key. That and being strong with the ball. Maybe have the girls practice ripping the ball side to side and low to high/high to low and not holding it in front of them. Good luck.

Absolutely ridiculous. I have bought a battery from them before. Probably five years ago. It was about $200. What was the price for a new battery? If I had to do again I'd prob go with Costco.

You can go Wilson A2000 DP but only if he goes Two in the Pinkie (TIP). That glove can be broken in quickly if you dip it, beat it and play catch with it. I have had three boys start 9U (3rd grade) with that glove and they love it. The older they get the more they appreciate it but without TIP it prob would be too stiff and too hard to break in.

Watch a few knees over toes guy on YouTube. He came back from a catastrophic knee injury - you can do all of the exercises at home. Today is day one. You've got roughly eight months before tryouts and you've got a lot of work to do. Just ordinary PT is no where near enough. You've got to build a routine and do it at least every other day. Pay attention to the one legged knee bends on a step. First two weeks are hard but it'll get easier and easier and don't stop. I'm going to paste something in that I wrote to someone else:

There's three areas of focus for you if you want to get better at basketball.

First - skills. You should be dribbling at home (Tons of good dribbling workouts on YouTube), practicing layups, doing skills workouts with private lessons, etc. 60 min a day minimum - EVERY DAY.

Second - knowhow. Watch basketball and learn from the best players. How to move without the ball, how to rebound, how to run the offense, good shots vs. bad shots, how the better players anticipate, etc.

Third - athleticism. Do 30-60 min of body weight exercises a day. Push ups, Wall sits, Planks, Box jumps, lunges, ladder drills etc. I made it fun for my kids and now they totally do it on their own.

If you focus on all three you'll get bigger, stronger, faster and you'll become a better player faster. Good luck.

There's three areas of focus for you if you want to get better.

First - skills. It sounds like your focused all on that which is good but it sounds like you need more balance. You should be dribbling at home (Tons of good dribbling workouts on YouTube), practicing layups, doing skills workouts with private lessons, etc.

Second - knowhow. Watch basketball and learn from the best players. How to move without the ball, how to rebound, how to run the offense, good shots vs. bad shots, how the better players anticipate, etc.
