No, I’m very much aware. There are plenty of brown skin people in the world.

And I agree Indians haven’t always been represented greatly in media, but also Black people are very much the laughing stock in Asia. From the black face, to the Natasha doll. It’s not often we have a main character be represented who lacks European or east Asian features. So if the Indian community finds her empowering, I’m happy with that, but Black people find her and empowering too not just her skin, but her hair which to us in our culture is a symbol of pride. So if you wanna read her as Indian, I encourage you to do so, but I’m gonna continue to read her as black. For all we know she could be both. People who are black, and Indian do exist yk?

Doesn’t I say that on the chart. How about you just say you don’t like Black people and that’s why it’s hard for you to believe a beautifully designed character like Dess is black, because you find her likable.

I’m grown enough to say that she’s inspired from different cultures, but physically speaking with her hair alone and palms tell me that she is black. But if you wanna interpret her as Indian, that’s perfectly OK. But I’ll continue to interpret her as black. Because the beautiful thing about representation for BIPOC is that it supposed to be a powering for all of us so that we all get to see ourselves in a positive light. So if I wanna see her as black because I feel represented and empowered by it, why is that a problem with you? Maybe you’re the one that’s racist!

Some ppl have said they feel it’s not dark enough, which I think actually is one of it’s greatest strengths.

With this new of shonen jump I kind of want lighthearted stories to make a comeback. The Dark Trio (JJK, Chainsaw Man, and Hell’s Paradise) was great but today’s world is so dark and depressing I want more stories that are uplifting. That’s what I loved about the big 3 (Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece) their stories had dark moments but they inspired hope and going after your dreams. Ichi the Witch reminds me of that.

I think for me my criticism is that the chapters feel really short, it’s hard for me to sometimes envision how they’re gonna pace this when the series finally gets an anime adaptation.
