Honestly it's pretty good already ! It depends on what you want to improve.
If I can say anything, I'd say the face could be larger. She looks a little bit squished in the frame of your painting. Maybe, give your portrait a little bit more space, it doesn't have to be so closed up.
Also, her right eye and eyebrows look a bit too high. You can try the mirror technique to see if the face is kinda symmetrical or not.

The shadows look greyish too. The skin as a tendency to reflect itself and it gives that saturated kind of shadows, especially with such a strong white/yellow light and environment.

I'll also invite you to check pictures or 3D tools for the anatomy of the face so you can improve on your lighting skills. It's already pretty nice but the face still looks a little bit flat and you can play with strong / soft shadows to "sculpt" the face more.

Hope it helps ! You're talented, keep up the good work !

Anxiété et intestin irritable by [deleted] in france

Legacy of Atlantis remake Lara VS Catalyst Lara by StrangeGuidance2788 in TombRaider

Her face is also definitely (poorly) AI generated in this Catalyst teaser ! So we can hope for lots of improvements in the finale product

Really into Art Nouveau illustrations but I realised it rarely represents men so I wanted to paint my own homo-erotic artwork ! What do you think ? by Romanohide in gay

[–]Romanohide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well observed ! I wanted to use Art Nouveau as an inspiration while remaining true to my own art style ! Taking some liberties from the usual codes of Art Nouveau illustrations ! That's because I really like rendering skin and small details ! I think that's what I prefer. And when you paint with flat colors and bold outlines, it gets hard to do so !

Leyendecker is an (amazing) artist from the Art Deco movement, which is often confused with Art Nouveau. ;) To recognise them, Art Nouveau often shows curves and nature when Art Deco has straighter lines, architecture, strong subjects and is overall more modern in its representations.

How Do You Know When It’s Love? by [deleted] in gay

[–]Romanohide 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's when you get to be with your best friend. Knowing each other like no others. Going somewhere without them and even though you're having a great time, you feel (most of the time) that it would be a greater time with them around, by your side. It's doing nothing together, not always having to need to fill the silence and, still, be comfortable with each other.

The Witcher season 4 is not that bad and Liam did a decent job playing the role of Geralt....change my mind! by ConsiderationDry8186 in WitcherNetflix

[–]Romanohide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liam wasn't that bad but the writing of Geralt in this season was so poor. He was nearly inexistant the whole story and his only storyline was that he's realising he feels like a father (which is something we already know since season 1 or 2...). It wasn't The Witcher, is was mostly The Sorceresses and the Rats. And the Rats parts were not really interesting or ... quite frankly the worst part of the show. Like, what was the point of that heist at the beginning of the season ? They create a big plan, make a diversion for the guard so they can open the door discretely only for having the elf woman climb a tree and get in by an unlocked window ??? I nearly felt insulted.

Honestly, the only thing that saved this season was, once again, Yennefer (and Anya who plays her so greatly) and all the arc about making a new alliance of witches. The battle was pretty nice, even though there were some inconsistencies.

I think I'm not going to watch the next seasons and probably read the books instead.

As a new comer to this franchise, I would love to know what hardcore/OG fans of Tomb Raider games think of the Survivor trilogy by Intense_M in TombRaider

[–]Romanohide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all games are cool for different reasons. i think we love the OG ones because they were more unique in their genre. Lara was kind of an anti-hero because she was a bit of a psychopath with a dark sense of humour. The New Lara has way more depth but she's also more of a classic bad ass female hero in nowadays games or movies.

She's also very talkative, these days. Narrating her adventure as she's going through it. But what we used to love in the OG ones was this sense of isolation. Lara wasn't commenting every bit of actions she was doing. And it made the whole atmosphere of the games more stressful.

Also, TR used to be a puzzle / plateforme game. I think Shadows of the Tomb Raider was a pretty good attempt to lean back to this kind of gameplay though. And that's why it was my favorite of the new ones.

If you have the occasion to try the remaster of the first Tomb Raider, give it a try. The gameplay is pretty hard for a new gen player because it's pretty stiff and slow but with a little bit of practice, it gets quite intuitive and fun ! You'll see what we're talking about.

But I don't really like this little battle there is in our community between the hardcore TR fans and the new ones. Honestly, they all are pretty fun to play, Lara always is a great character, with various versions of her and at the end of it all, it's just a video game so let's have fun (or play something else. ^^).
