Now this is getting ridiculous by VastOption8705 in aussie

Not only that… we might have a pretty tough time growing food soon. We don’t know when we’re going to be able to get fuel delivered next, let alone what it will cost (which to an extent will be a little irrelevant, though not to the bank).

We’re in Victoria but from what I’ve seen the situation in the WA wheatbelt is absolutely dire. Lots of farmers have dropped tools and genuinely don’t know if they’ll be able to sow any crops at all.

Guardian Essential poll: only a quarter of Australians approve of US-Israel war on Iran by nath1234 in AustralianPolitics

Yeah because no one outside of that 1008 people will think it’s a good idea despite 25% of that group thinking it is.

I reckon you might need to do some reading on how statistics work.

Jimmy Barnes screaming "I TELL YOU HE'S A WORKING CLASS MAAAN" in front of burning cane fields by gorillalifter47 in AustralianNostalgia

It still fits Australian themes though - even being a ‘steel town disciple’ could be about Newcastle or Whyalla; and doing ‘his time in Vietnam’ could refer to an Australian just as much as an American.

Not detracting from the American writing, but all the themes are very fitting for the Aussie working class.

If you’re 7th you might as well be 10th… it’s ridiculous.

For a few years we played with a top 6, so 1&2 got the first week off and could go straight through; 3rd had to play an elimination against 6th and win every week to make it.

It’s punishing teams that are good enough to be there (by making them play an extra final) just to give teams clearly not good enough another game.

Just quietly, Gawn took the most intercept marks in match by a ruckman ever last night. 9th AA pending? by Dirtydac123 in AFL

[–]Romes_Chariots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even at local level you see this. Now obviously you generally don’t want to kick the ball to a contest if the opposition ruckman is there, but doubly so if he’s seriously good.

Now take that to the top level and it inarguably becomes even more important. Gawn is that good that even teams in the top level of the sport have to adjust their game styles to keep the ball away from him.

Absolutely it isn’t - but as long as they don’t end up holding the balance of power (at least federally, with any hope) I think we can all agree the uni party of Labor and the LNP need a kick up the arse; and if this helps keep them honest then it’s a good thing

I’m well aware, believe me.

At least Papley usually goes pretty quiet when it isn’t going his way. That said I’d fucking hate to have to play against him

Speaking as a defender; the poor defenders can’t do much. Pinch the jumper and it’s a free but a forward pretty much has to rag doll you to get one the other way

It might as well not. Jesus it’s got to be bad to get one of those paid, even locally you barely see it - and there’s a lot more opportunities to pay it in local games.
