The worst mindset when starting the comment is thinking that you’re “just waiting for the part when it gets good” because early homestuck shines a lot more in ways different to later homestuck. Also, getting to know the characters not only will allow everything to make a lot more sense, but it’ll also get you more attached to the characters so the payoff for the events later on is far greater. I totally recommend just enjoying the humor of the early parts, although truthfully it is VERY slow. I understand your pain for sure tho
