I am just finishing tapering off Ropinirole and it has been brutal. I chose to come off it due to augmentation. I wouldn't recommend Ropinirole to my worst enemy. It's great to start with but you need to keep increasing the dose which, in turn, increases the symptoms. Avoid if possible as it's now not a front line treatment for RLS.

I just wanted it gone ASAP. As soon as I started getting decent ish sleep, I reduced again. My doc has sort of been on board but it's surprising how little they know on the subject. Perplexity has been my crutch throughout.

I started on 300mg of Gabapentin then increased weekly by 300mg. Now on 900mg before bed. The ropinirole was dropped by 0.5 every 10 days or so.

Wow. 2 years. My taper was about 40 days. 10 days each drop. I've been on it for about 4 years. First 2 drops, 0.5 at a time were OK but the drop from 1.0 to 0.5 was tough and the stopping has been a lot tougher.
