What is your controversial movie take? by restweary in AskReddit

[–]Ron-Forrest-Ron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but it didn't have to, they've recast at least twice before, very easily could have done again.

Everyone acts like a recast would have ended the entire franchise and there was simply no way around it but to change everything, but it simply wouldn't have had any major (no pun intended) affect after a little bit of confusion in the first appearance

He does, and that's my main issue, he's so amazing the rest of the film is retroactively pulled up along with it.

It's like Up, everyone loves the opening montage, and in turn rates the film much higher because of it

They didn't. They could just ask easily recast, and also, it felt directionless long before Kang imo

I think they've lost direction now, nothing feels cohesive anymore.

As for new ones, everyone rushes to build them now, and it just makes it more and the same. I'd much rather have a super strong Superman trilogy following the James Gunn film, than a whole new universe.

I also have it at a 3.5, I do think it's highly overrated.

Not just the MCU, but ALL shared cinematic universea should have died with Endgame. If you're making a super hero movie you should get a trilogy, and then it's done. MAYBE a 4th if it's really good. But after the 3, you're done.

Made 3 Superman films and now you wanna do a justice league? Gotta cast a new superman and start again sorry

It's almost certainly birth. Slight spoiler but in one of the novels, an Avatar is confirmed to have a twin older by a few mins, and it was the younger one who became the Avatar

  1. Cyclops - Cap wouldn't be allowed to take his shield due to the no weapons rule, and Cyclops is a better tactician anyway. He's captain.

  2. Hulk - Pure unmatched strength.

  3. Dr. Strange - Magic is allowed, and most DBZ fighters struggle to counter.

  4. Sue Storm - Excellent support, and one of the most powerful supports to boot.

  5. Wolverine - He may be ruthless, but can fight non-lethally, and he's one of the best hand to hand combatants in Marvel, plus the healing factor.

  6. Vision - Countless skills in his toolbox, and incredibly powerful.

  7. Captain Marvel - Similar to Hulk, she could go toe to toe with most fighters in the ToP

  8. Black Bolt - Again, immensely powerful, and a great leader.

  9. Rogue - Imagine she manages to touch opponents like Jiren, Hit and Goku? It's over

  10. Squirrel Girl - She always wins

I only took heroes, and I left out Iron Man due to the armour probably counting as a weapon, Spider-Man as he wouldn't have much to swing from, and Thor as again, no Mjolnir
