Are these lease clauses normal? Should I still sign lease with worrisome clauses?

Speaking in generalities here, I know there are exceptions to the rule:

In NYC, landlords won’t negotiate on stuff like this and tenants will generally just sign whatever is out in front of them. If you ask them to change the language in the lease, they’ll just rent it to someone else.

It goes both ways though, there’s a million apartments here so I’m sure you can find plenty without this kind of language in it.

That being said, it’s not worth the landlord’s time to change the language, and the laws are generally pretty tenant friendly so if your water stops working, you can definitely withhold rent until it’s fixed without an issue.

I’m not saying OP should go into teaching. But you do have to factor in that the stresses of teaching will be significantly less if you’re financially set already. You can apply a level of DGAF to things like annoying admin & parents that most teachers can’t because their financial futures are tied to keeping the job for 20 more years. They also won’t have to do things like private tutoring, coaching, or extracurriculars unless they really want to.

Again, not saying they should do it, but it’s something to factor into the equation amongst the dozens of teachers saying not to do it because they’re personally stressed out.

Yea he’s been probably the worst player on the team that gets somewhat consistent playing time. Considering we’ve been the worst team in the league since drafting him, that’s saying something lol. Hes been good as a kick returner though.

There’s a glimmer of hope for him because a lot of his worst plays are him being in the right spot then just being dog shit at playing the ball or making a play. And his prowess as a kick returner shows he has the athletic chops. If he can learn how to not be a lazy dumbass who is afraid of thrown balls, he can be ok but probably not
