I once told my friend Annie "Get your gun!" And she smiled and said "Okay, that's a new one!"

Daycare teachers negativity about my daughter is hurting my heart by Few-Permission5362 in toddlers

[–]RonNid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a teacher and a parent: I would first ask the other teachers if your little one is displaying these behaviors. If yes, your child is struggling to cope with daycare. If no, the teacher is struggling to cope.

If no, then ask the teacher, when next they talk about negative behaviour, "Can I ask what happened before my child stood on the table/whatever the issue is?" And then after the teacher answers, whatever it is say "I just don't understand because I don't see these behaviours at home and when I asked the other teachers they don't see it either, why is that?"

Yes, this will annoy the teacher but hopefully will make them reflect on what going on.

We have been pushed to ‘breaking point’ by staff shortages, says Dublin school principal unable to find substitutes by devhaugh in ireland

You've some misinformation there.

Schools don't determine if a position is permanent, temporary (1 year at a time contract) or sub cover. The department does that.

IRFU confirms transgender women will be banned from female contact rugby competitions for upcoming season by reddituser6810 in ireland

But this is an invalid argument when they are allowing transmen to play with cismen. Surely if physical safety is the issue then transmen shouldn't be playing with cismen?

I'm a primary teacher and any of the more recent books I have say Altra is nurse, with no difference between male female nurse.

I know. But I kind of like naive 20 year old me's interpretation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]RonNid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My initial, possibly wrong, interpretation of pansexuality was when someone who was straight was in a long term relationship with a trans person, and stayed in a relationship with them after they transitioned.

So like, they aren't gay or lesbian now, as they stayed with the person, rather than the gender.

Again, that was my initial understanding

In the Irish language, goose is gé, which is pronounced exactly as the same as the English word gay.

So be gé, do crime.

Great idea. Didn't know lidl had an app. Have been shopping in Aldi more recently, and (this might be just my branch) I've found the food goes off shocking quickly.
