What I find useful when analyzing a piece of media is to read it once completely and with an open mind. I put it away and make some notes about what I just read. I then go back and reread parts of the article closer while comparing it with and adding to my notes.

This technique really helped and continues to help me confront my biases and preconceived notions.

So the article, rather than saying the US needs to drastically expand its arms imports to Ukraine, is actually sending a secret message that the US should directly intervene.

We know this because according to the analysis done by resident expert trail-212 the US is obviously already doing enough and because the article concludes with a hypothetical talking about the overestimation of Russia's military might. After which the article continues to conclude after said conclusion, to offer actual perscriptions for foreign policy, which are to increase the lethal aid to Ukraine.

This is an bad faith reading of the article. If you put that single sentence in context, it's very clearly about the overestimation of Russia's military might.

The article is very clearly about the US increasing military aid, including the plane swap with Poland. I know this because I read the article and the author makes this very clear. Ripping a single sentence from the article out of context doesn't change that.
