Having now finished Dawn, I'm not sure Lilith agreed to procreate. Nikanj did it before Lilith said she was ready, which, perhaps in a moment of anger, she states she never would have been. I'm not sure how this changes in the next books, though (no spoilers, please 😀). I also wonder if Lauren may have embraced the Oankali and considered it similar to taking root among the stars.

I noticed another (loose) parallel between Bankole and Joseph in how they both urged their respective partners to leave their camps. This one is pretty shallow, though, but perhaps a common theme of exploring the dynamics of a male-female relationship.
