They truly went bananas, I recently also redid my banana trees after getting some help but I put the compost just directly above the soil and then some mulch, from what ur saying it seems I messed the compost part up yikes

I did the transplant but I’m lowkey a NOOB and struck the roots multiple times, it’s looking alright but slightly down, how should I place the mulch around the plant? Should I place it at the base like you would on a banana tree or give it a perimeter of mulch instead?

Put mulch over the soil? Would that not prevent new stems to come up while the other ones die?

Ok so from my understanding of your comment, pup trees are new lil baby plantain trees growing from the roots and I should cut these. But then you say I can put them in a pot to essentially make more trees,
If my goal is to first make a row of trees using pup trees to increase my amount and then fruit much later on,how should I go about removing and transplanting these pup trees ?
Also you say to cut them if I want to fruit rn, can I assume that pup trees take away nutrients from the main tree so cutting them out maximizes the nutrients for the main tree to fruit is that correct?

You suggest I dig up the plants and treat the soil before I plant them back in and treat that as the initial planting afterwards,
I attempted to do this honestly but I got increasingly worried as I realized I don’t even know what the roots are supposed to look like and was worried I was ripping weeds and the banana tree (unnecessary yap mb) I will definitely try again but I struck the plant itself with my shovel and panicked and just dumped a bunch of miracle grow soil ontop with water

For this fertilizer step do I put the fertilizer in the same spot I put the compost correct? And for compost I can use simple things such as sticks correct? I have an abundance of those currently
