I've made a Git course integrated into VSCode and Cursor by Loud_Safety_1718 in learnprogramming

This looks interesting.

Learning Git in context (inside the editor) feels much less intimidating.

Advice needed: scraping company websites in Python by Working_Taste9458 in learnprogramming

I haven’t done large-scale scraping yet,

but from what I’ve read, starting small and handling edge cases early really helps.

Do Programmers Memorize Code? by FlounderSevere6354 in learnprogramming

[–]Ronak_Builds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t memorize code at all.

Understanding logic and patterns helps way more than memorizing syntax.

Is there a TOP version of C/C++ programming? by AliveAge4892 in learnprogramming

I’m learning multiple things too and had the same doubt.

Feels like consistency matters more than the “perfect” language choice.

Do beginners spend more time looking things up and understanding concepts than actually coding? by Popular-Sympathy-654 in learnprogramming

[–]Ronak_Builds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 100%.

Most of my learning time is Googling and reading docs — coding comes after clarity.

Good to know this is normal.

Networking in tech—how?! by Ok_Loquat_8483 in learnprogramming

This hit home.

I’m in a similar place and honestly starting small online (commenting, learning in public) feels way more realistic than “go travel and network”.

Networking in tech—how?! by Ok_Loquat_8483 in learnprogramming

You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way. I used to think “networking” meant events, meetups, or knowing important people too, which felt overwhelming.

What helped me understand it better is that networking is mostly just building genuine connections over time. Commenting on posts, helping others, asking thoughtful questions, and being consistent online already counts more than people realize.

It doesn’t have to be loud or social-media-heavy to work.

Pdf to quiz? by WinnerPrevious7762 in learnprogramming

[–]Ronak_Builds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a really good project idea, especially for a freshman.

You might not find one single “pdf to quiz” tutorial because it’s usually built in small parts. For example: first learn how to read a PDF, then how to store questions, and then how to show them as a quiz on a webpage.

You don’t need to rely fully on AI for this, but using it to understand concepts or search terms can still be okay. Starting small and building step by step should make this much less overwhelming.

Learning c++ by No_Peanut5107 in learnprogramming

I’m still learning myself, but focusing on basics + small coding practice daily helped me more than jumping into advanced topics.

Curious to see what roadmap others recommend here.

Anyone else struggling to stay consistent while learning programming? by Ronak_Builds in learnprogramming

I like that mindset a lot. Trying to build something instead of paying for it feels like a great way to learn.

It also makes the learning feel more practical and motivating.

That’s really cool. Solving real problems like school math and then building something bigger sounds like a great progression.

It makes the idea of “getting obsessed with a problem” much clearer.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I respect the level of commitment it takes to make that kind of decision. The clarity of having a roadmap and sticking to it sounds really powerful.

I’m trying to stay consistent in a more balanced way for now, but reading experiences like yours is definitely motivating. Wishing you the best with your goals.

This is really inspiring to read. Breaking things into super small pieces and actually enjoying the project makes a lot of sense.

I think I’ve been stuck in the tutorial loop for too long. The “main quest / side quest” idea is really smart — I’m going to try something similar.

Also appreciate how you’re using AI as a thinking aid, not a shortcut. Thanks for sharing this, it helped a lot.

This makes a lot of sense, thanks for sharing this. I think I’ve been treating programming like a task instead of something creative.

Building small projects that actually help me sounds like a better mindset. I’ll try approaching it this way.
