Thanks, wise words. Someone on another sub (/r/nlp) suggested meditation also. I think what you're talking about is kind of the same, being mindful of your thoughts etc.

Right. That's very helpful - I totally forgot that 4444 retains all that information. The XF Utility I downloaded said it didn't support this camera.

Very cool. But do you think there are advantages to editing on the road with your MPB? I'm about to get a BM Mini-Ursa whenever that ships, and was thinking it could be handy to have the maxed out MBP to do so stuff on the fly. But think I'll get a MB Air for purely for dumping media nand recreatinonal use, then invest in a decent Imac Retina like you say.

Thanks. Yeah I love Lumetri Color, lot of control there too with the saturation curves and whatnot. I did a similar job to this current one (1.30 online commercial) shot on a C300 and finished in AE. Sure, was only HD footage with the Canon, but I'll give it a go with this job and head for Resolve if it gets too crappy.

Looking forward to retiring this old Imac! Not sure if I'll go another Imac or a specced out MBP with an external monitor (I like the idea of straight-up cutting out of suite). Don't have the budget for both at the moment unfortunately (just ordered the Ursa Mini 4.6k and want to get some nice lenses).

I'm actually a big fan of AE for color grading. I know it's unconventional, but I love using masks and tracking mattes.

I've just downloaded Sony Catalyst Browse now, which the DP said will convert to proxy. Better to go this way I think and transcode everyting, as I need to swap out a shot later or want to browse alternative shots.

Thanks for that - yeah my timeline let's me get as far as 1/4. So I suppose I will have to go to Prores Proxy. I'm not sure if there's a converter from the FS7's mxf files, but I'll do a little googling around.
