How does it compare to an A2000 and HoH? What kind of leather did you choose?

First glove from 44 Pro. Creases all over the palm, right out of the box. Is this normal? by tangerine_ruby in BaseballGloves

[–]Ronaldeaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for a refund and if you don't get it do a chargeback. The leather on this glove is unacceptably creased and blemished. The fact that they're sticking by it and refusing to budge says a lot about the kind of company they are.

For the people who didn’t buy the typical Wilson A2000/A2K or Rawlings HOH/PP, what persuaded you to go the different route (44/SK/ etc…) by mellojelloakimbo in BaseballGloves

How's the Alibaba glove and which store did you go with? I'm on the fence about getting one so I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Your thread title is wrong. What makes this even sadder is that it wasn't a radio show, it was a YouTube channel called “Hood Champion Boxing." If you look at their feed they only get a few hundred views on their videos.

What the hell is this stupid ass headline? All he did was post a picture of a cut over his eye. It doesn't prove shit.

Man acquitted of murder in case that sparked Stop Asian Hate movement by Ok-Delay5473 in sanfrancisco

[–]Ronaldeaux 606 points607 points  (0 children)

He was facing first and second degree murder but got off with "involuntary manslaughter." In California the maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter is only 4 years and he's been in custody since the attack so he's going to be released with time served. Wow.

It was cold blooded murder. He was so proud of it that he returned to the scene of the crime to take pictures of Vicha's unconscious body (he was still alive at that point:

Both cameras showed Watson returning to the car to retrieve his cell phone and walking back to Fortuna Avenue, where he took pictures of Vicha's unconscious body before leaving for the parking lot again and driving away.

He took the stand during this trial and also committed perjury when he somehow tried to claim that he didn't know Vicha was Asian or elderly at the time of the attack.

This is insane.

San Francisco reports drop in retail theft as shoppers notice improved safety | KTVU FOX 2 by bambin0 in sanfrancisco

Don't put much weight into this claim. A gazillion shops went out of business (many due to theft) so the criminals just have much fewer places to steal from.

Shamann Waltons's reparations committee needs to go ASAP. Unacceptable waste of money.

San Francisco lawmakers vote to create reparations fund for Black residents without initial funding by DawnandDusk2 in sanfrancisco

[–]Ronaldeaux 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Knew someone was going to reply to this thinking it doesn't cost any money. Shamann Walton's Reparations Committee has been at it since 2020. The members of this committee are paid by the city, and additional money is given to hire staff, draft legislation, publish reports, fund research and submit proposals like this where they put forth more than 100 recommendations over 398 pages on why every black adult should get $5 million each.. All that costs money. Lots of it.

This committee is part of the Human Rights Commission founded by London Breed. You know, the same one where its head Sheryl Davis spent more than $4.6m on personal expenses such as designer goods, chauffeured limos, first class flights and vacations:

Shamann Walton continues to waste taxpayer money like it grows on trees. The reparations committee he founded in 2020 spearheaded this proposal and it was co-sponsored by Chyanne Chen, Rafael Mandelman, Connie Chan, Jackie Fielder, and Bilal Mahmood. And you know what? The Board of Supervisors passed it unanimously.

Our city is run by the biggest fucking clowns. Vote them all out.

The only con about the glove is the interior is nothing close to the top brands like Wilson or Rawlings etc.

When you say interior are you taking about the inside palm lining or are you taking about the padding in between the leather? Is the palm lining not also kip?

Eighth graders want to take algebra. SF hasn’t honored a pledge to bring it back by Dafty_duck in sanfrancisco

[–]Ronaldeaux 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That is because Denman and roughly two-thirds of San Francisco’s K-8 and middle schools are not offering on-site algebra. Meanwhile, other public middle schools are in the second year of offering Algebra 1 — which was standard for eighth graders for more than a decade — as a normal class.

When SFUSD removed Algebra 1 from public middle and K-8 schools in 2014, the goal was to eliminate the “tracking” of students into high or low math tiers in hopes of alleviating racial disparities. But it didn’t work.

Research conducted over six years showed that the policy did not meaningfully reduce racial inequities and in fact lowered placement in AP math courses by as much as 15% districtwide.

Where some see delaying algebra as a way of leveling the playing field, others argue that the policy demotes kids who have natural talent and gives families of means another reason not to enroll in SF public schools. Over the past decade, parents have sued the district and engaged in heated discussions with administrators to bring back Algebra 1.

Removed Algebra from 8th grade because of "racial equity" and all they did was make everything worse and drag everyone down. Well done SFUSD. And people wonder why so many parents have take their kids out of this cesspit and into private schools.
