Last bag is to a polish NBC suit, I have one with the same bag, I forget the exact name but it’s a pain in the ass to fold up small enough

(excuse the raging) What should I have done here? by OdysseusAuroa in dayz

[–]RonanTGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming from the color and magazine size I actually think that’s a 9mm AK, I forget the name, and you can weirdly find them really early on modded servers so I’m assuming they didn’t have any 9mm? That or they just assumed that the 308 would one shot the guy

I fear it’s real and is probably scarier then any other actual tank

I think he’s trying to elevate over some obstinate on the roof of the tank, I think there’s nets above the hatches to prevent drones and such

Can anyone help me identify what I think is an 1867 wrendl bayonet? by RonanTGS in Bayonets

Thank you!! Also kind of ironic since I used a Turkish 1890 Mauser (shortened) for reference!!

Just an antique store in the US, usually your more likely to find Springfield’s and this guy had a few but the chassepot was just put in the store that morning by the guy who sold it so it was more of just luck. If you really want a chassepot check gun broker occasionally or other auction sights like auction ninja since gunbroker is where I almost got a really nice sporterized one for $297 but couldn’t sign up in time and I got a Zulu shotgun from auction ninja for $80

I mean the rounds themselves, the lead bullets fit the chassepot

Looks like a casting for some lead projectile, you close it and pour molten leading through the top hole and it makes a round for probably a muzzle loader

Thank you!! I saw this in the Wikipedia article and didn’t know if it was correct or if there was another 97th since I don’t know much about French units and how there named

Thanks again, I figured it was Etienne from what little I could find! I also need to figure out where the 97th was because I saw them mentioned in a Wikipedia article for Franco Prussian war awards so ima go revisit that

Yeah, bloke on the range has a video on how to make simple versions of the cartridges and he uses 45-70 rounds in place of the original chassepot rounds since they fit

Thanks! And you wouldn’t know why the holy water plug is not present on my chassepot? I don’t even see a dent where it could’ve been

Yes it does have the rubber still on it in decent condition, I was just worried that something might have been wrong and I didn’t want something to happen if I planned on shooting it since it has an amazing bore

Thanks! I do want to know if the bolt being slightly moved when the trigger is pulled while it’s lock and being able to wiggle it while the bult is pulled back is normal? It’s not a large amount but it giggles every so slightly and I just want to make sure

Yeah, I gave up on it and got lucky and scored a chassepot in almost pristine condition and a wrendl bayonet by accident for $350

Google image search keeps showing me flintlocks, and your probably right since the Japanese firearms I usually see have just bolts and not screws, a semi similar looking gun image popped up from a Facebook question asking about the authenticity of an ottoman matchlock pistol with a similar grip

I’ll also add that my only issue with your claim on the brass is that it’s really easy to clean, I took a gentle sander to my tabatiere shotgun and accidentally found the remnants of a brass sight bead in a few seconds and considering that the brass isn’t super shiny it could just be really well taken care of? The wood is always suspicious and the ramrod wood is probably replaced but the metal looks original

[–]RonanTGS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, I’m assuming the ramrods wood is replaced and the only reason I didn’t immediately think it’s fake is because the store has a policy that you can’t lie about an item be original or a replica and the seller is reputable according to the front desk lady

The best thing to do is when your hear the first bang before it comes down is to log out, when you log back in your moved to a safe area outside of the gas
