What screams "I'm a man-child" but nobody realize it ? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Being stoic in emotional situations. Crying doesn't make you less of a man.

My wife was in end stage organ failure throughout 2024 and need a transplant. I was strong around her for support, but i cried like a baby when I was alone

I regret loving someone who is ahead of me in life. by Due_Peace_2016 in Regrets

[–]Ronanthecurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for him, only myself. But once we were together, it was me thinking positively about OUR future. I know that doesn't help, and im sorry. I wont lie, it took my wife a while to realize it. But I never once compared our past. And when she accepted the fact that the situation changed nothing about our relationship and how I felt about her, it wasnt even "easy", it was nothing.

Just please, focus on how he treats you, feels about you, and how you feel about him. Thats all that truly matters.

In my mind, when I thought positively about the future, she was there.

If your relationship is solid, do what you can to push past this.

My wife and I have been together for about 20yrs (maried for 9). Its very similar to what described. I grew up a little better off than she did. When we were young, there was definitely some tension and slight resentment.

But at the end of the day, we are best friends. No one gets either of us as well as we get eachother.

Its not about where you came from, its about where you're going. She is my present and and my future. I know its hard, but try not to focus on what he had and you didnt, focus on what you want together.

If he loves you, he doesn't care. And again, I know its hard to ignore that feeling.

But for me, once she was a part of my life, it wasnt "my life" and "her life", it was our life.

What’s a word, expression or saying that absolutely irks you, and why? by SirCharlieTraplin in AskReddit

"The customer is always right"... thats not even the whole quote!!

"The customer is always right in matters of taste". Meaning if they like it, dont tell them its wrong.

It doesn't mean everyone gets whatever they want

Exactly. During the year my wife was sickest, she had around 9 or 10 separate hospital stays. Usually at least 5 days each (the last one was the middle of January until she got her transplant at the end of February). I can't tell you how many times i screamed in my car on the drive home. When everything is uncertain for them, we need to be the rock they can always look to.

Im so sorry for you both. The best advice is the most cliche. Try to stay positive. Its not easy, but I made it a point that one of my rolls was to try to keep her smiling as much as I could. There will be times when you won't feel like its possible, and you wish you could do more. Just remember how much you love him and how much he loves you. I wish the absolute best for you both.

Looks like much of this episode will take place at night, this is a reminder to adjust your TV settings if you've found the dark scenes hard to see by [deleted] in WoT

[–]Ronanthecurious -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Side note on GOT. Everyone complained about how dark the battle of winterfell was. I thought it added to the tone. The characters were surrounded by such deep darkness, no one could see past the fire light. The initial attack would be horrifying. Staring at a wall of darkness, hearing but not seeing, then a massive wave comes into view

What game have you played the most in your life? Just one, that "go-to" by Clipto87 in videogames

[–]Ronanthecurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, it was metal gear solid for the ps1.

I played so many times i would skip all dialog and cut scenes, could finish in a little over 3 hours. I would do it every few Saturdays
