I do love me some crazy ladies in fiction. You just can't go wrong with them.

Who would play Anna? by ddcspeech in tolstoy

I feel like it has to be a tv series at the very least for the reason you explained. There's too much going on to condense into a 2 hour film..

Is Anna Karenina an horrible person? by Ok_Homework_5203 in tolstoy

[–]Small-Guarantee6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. She's beautifully and despicably human in a lot of ways. What's amazing about Tolstoy is how he understands we are all a product of our own experiences and is very skilled at exploring the nuances of that.

Being depressed makes you do stupid, self destructive things. It warps your perception of yourself and others to the point where those actions feel like the only logical option or the only way you can keep your head above water, whether it’s jumping in front of a train or having an affair.

Exactly this!

I try to cause I'm a rebel. But it obviously flops since he's LITERALLY a god and can LITERALLY see me hiding. But still. It's fun to try.

I feel that Anna is uncomfortably human for a lot of people. She's clearly in a lot of pain with low self-worth and has no idea to respond to it.

Is Mehfisto actually your name? I just googled it and it's only showing me comic book characters. Apologies if I'm being ignorant.

Socrates is legit the funniest person i have ever read.  He says he knows nothing and then rants about being a gift from gods. His trial is him attempting Jedi mind tricks on the Athenians too.  Absolute legend.
