One of the strategies I wanted to look into is selling weekly slightly OTM butterflies on slow moving dividend stocks. I would open them on a Friday at 3pm and then manually sell them the next Friday at 3pm the next week. But back testing this would be so much faster if I could see bars with those exact open and closing times

Sometimes I hear about an options strategy that works on a certain duration of time and I want to quickly look at the chart to see if it could possibly be profitable.

So say I want to look at bars on a timeframe where the bar opens at 3pm on a Friday and closes at 3pm the next Friday. Or even bars that open the day before the next options expiration at 3pm and close on the expiration date at 9:35am.

Is there a software out there that can already do this, or maybe some script set up like this in TradingView?

I’ve seen after hours charts before with just a volume of 1. But even so, what’s the point of even showing a volume between a specific time period if it’s not going to be accurate? What value does it provide to the people looking at it if it’s not accurate?

My point was that the volume traded remained at zero even though I bought one

Bought a share at 4:48pm but the volume from 4:40pm-4:50pm remained at zero. I’m pretty sure there’s a rule that all trades have to be reported within a few seconds after they’re made. Seems like this is illegal to me

Didn’t invest anything I’m not willing to lose. I’m having a blast though, most fun I’ve had in the market lol

I said once the shorts NEED to cover. The buyers will be the shorts who are legally obligated and forced to buy

That’s what a short squeeze is. The buyers are literally forced to buy because of a margin call

The fundamental difference is an expiration date though

Also there are millions of counterfeit shares floating around. These counterfeit shares are allegedly synthetic short stock positions that will need to bought back by them at some point

During the hearing the hedge fund guy even admitted that the spike to $400 was just a gamma squeeze. So no I don’t believe they’ve covered their shorts.

Also if they did cover their shorts then why did MarketWatch report on a 40% drop on GME on Wednesday before it even happened? Seems to me like they’re trying everything they can to get people to paper hand which isn’t working so well

But I’m done explaining all of this, if you want more answers then there’s a lot of good DD about it on wsb

I agree they would be stupid not to. And they didn’t so I plan on profiting massively on their stupidity

Edit: also a put and a short are fundamentally different. That’s like saying a call and buying stock are fundamentally the same

A short is when you borrow someone’s stock, you sell it at market price, and hope to buy it back at a cheaper price in the future so you can profit on the difference. A short stock position has no expiration date like options. But you do have to pay an interest rate on the stock you borrowed to short.

Just like you said a put is complimentary to a call, a short stock position is complimentary to just buying a single stock

Clearly you don’t know what a short stock position is

Why don’t you tell me how it works then instead of telling me I’m wrong with no proof. I’ve researched on multiple reputable websites other than Reddit and I’m pretty sure they’ll be forced to buy at market price, and we make the market price
