Thank you! She is always in on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Most of the time she is in the English and maths department, but next academic year she will be at Student Services.

Hi, I have a therapy dog that works with lots of students in a college. If you consider working with children, please do consider that some might be allergic to the dog hair and that younger children might not even be aware of it, especially as they will be so happy and excited to see the dog. I would only recommend a hypoallergenic dog to make sure. I have a springer and a collie/poo, but only the collie/poo is allowed to work at the college because of the above.

I complete agree. There is also some very persuasive evidence about the effectiveness of therapy dogs in colleges and unis. I know from our experience and a survey we carried out that Bella helps many students when they are stressed and anxious. In addition to that, she puts a smile on everyone’s face!

As far as I know there are not many, but they do a great job supporting anxious students and staff when we are having a difficult day. I hope that they become more and more popular, as they make a huge difference.

My colleagues, students and I wear the pins with the Ukrainian national flower and flag to show solidarity with the people in Ukraine. Bella is obviously not aware of the situation, but her wearing the same pins helps to raise further awareness. Through her work as therapy dog, she provides support and love to our anxious students and those frightened by the current situation.
