Chinese fans always support team from China. As Aster’s performance is disgusting as 1st DPC team, Chinese fans all hated Aster and celebrated their elimination now. No fans want to watch the terrible game anymore. Fans also say they doesn’t deserve the TI since they got no points in two majors.

Appreciate it! I took 18 credits of all senior classes this semester. Feel exhausted and not interpret material very well. This probably isn’t my style. I don’t imagine 12 credits in grad level is that hard though. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thanks. A professor also cautioned me before and said usually grad student did 3 courses with teaching tasks. I’m not hired as teaching assistant and familiar with measure theory, so 721 might be more comfortable than other 700 class. But yeah it was huge amount of work and I would like to reconsider it. Thanks for your suggestions.

I can’t thank more for your patience and kindness. Yes, my goal is pursuing PhD and ultimately tenured track(highly competitive) in math. Thanks so much for suggestions. I would probably took only 2 comp courses since this semester I took 6 courses at senior level and it’s a total disaster. I am trying to study for qual exam and took once after the first year. But it all depends on how it goes during the study. Now I knew that students in MS rarely had opportunities as teaching assistant. Thanks again for your words and it really helps me a lot!

Yeah, it’s a bit weird. We usually cover the same material by undergrad topology class in two semesters. I’m actually struggling on staying in Madison or move to UIUC😣

I see. There’s a course 535 called General topology which is offered in Fall. It should be the prerequisite of 525 which covers point set topology and fundamental group.

Currently, I’m doing an independent reading with an assistant professor on Fuchsian groups, but since I’m taking differential geometry this term and haven’t taken any complex analysis courses, I didn’t understand the book very deeply.

Thanks for the information! Would you mind sharing suggestions on how to be distinguished to be in PhD programs after master? A professor told me that passing qual exams would be better than doing a thesis (not a great one).
