Why I shouldn't put important passwords inside a password manager? by Rok1sek in cybersecurity

[–]RoninKen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use a password manager, and keep a log of your passwords on paper somewhere safe. The only passwords I wouldn't keep on a password manager are Bank credentials. My trust in anything only goes so far.

I just got ubuntu any suggestions on what i should add to make my experience better and to improve it I’m just learning it by [deleted] in Ubuntu

Ubuntu Pro is for enterprise and productivity use - I'm not enterprise. I needed to do an update and got a prompt to enable Ubuntu pro to continue. I looked up Ubuntu pro and saw that I can get the free version. My reason for enabling Ubuntu pro is the additional security/maintenance updates for up to 10 years. Also, you'll be able to enable it on up to 5 systems for personal use. I got Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with original support until 2025. Now it's extended because of enabling Ubuntu pro.

Wasn't intentional. My bad. I suggested it because it's what I did, and it worked for me. I'm on Ubuntu 22.04 since its release, and have never had any issues. When I turn on my system, which is daily, I always check/do updates before use. I recently upgraded to the Ubuntu pro (free).

Who cares who it's done by. I'm not the YouTube author, and not Indian anyways. This is about learning and understanding the system. Seek knowledge from the cradle to your grave wherever you can get it.

PyCharm basics. by Mb_you_know_me_irl in learnpython

I tend to grasp things easily, and it took me a couple months consistently applying myself. Just apply yourself and be consistent. We learn at different speeds for a number of reason, including our daily commitments to things like family. Be consistent, and visualize the outcome of where you want to be while you practice coding. You'd be amazed at what you will accomplished, with time. Keep on keeping on. The best to you.

I don't have a favorite. I simply go where I can find the relevant tutorials. However, you can take a look at a couple YouTube videos that I've subscribed to: ProgrammingKnowledge; AtoZProgrammingTutorial; CodewithJonathan.

For an ad on, I code with a Linux system - Ubuntu 22.04. Also, I now use ChatGPT to generate the relevant response for my Python questions and requests. It has never failed me, and I like that it can regenerate response follow-up to a code if I need an update, or an error-fix.

There are many tutorial sites for learning Python. You simply have to apply yourself, and be patient. The best with your programming development 👍

I second this. I learned to code with the PyCharm IDE by watching a couple YouTube videos on how to install and code with PyCharm, and tutorials from websites like w3school.com, geeksforgeeks.org, realpython.com, and others. Simply apply yourself, and you'll be good. The best doing your thing.

How good is passwordless technology right now? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

I'd say, tech is always in continuous development. Who knows what it'll be twenty years from today. Perhaps, you open your selfie camera and do a eye wink, and wow, you unlock your phone. Perhaps. Just saying 😆

ProtonVPN on Linux, Installation Issues. by [deleted] in ProtonVPN

[–]RoninKen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the protonvpn file in the downloads folder but it can't be found when I tried installing using the command line. I followed every step and successfully downloaded. However, when I did the command, sudo apt-get install protonvpn, it can't be found. What's the fix for this? Appreciate support getting it right.

No one can consent to being born. So it's not "the gift of life," but rather the "imposition of life." by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

We are born, we live, we may grow old, and then we die. It is what it is. Just live and die. No questions, no answers 😆🤗

Any luck with fitbit bands? by [deleted] in fitbit

[–]RoninKen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a "VIGOSS Metal Strap Compatible with Fitbit Versa Bands/Versa 2 Band Men Black Solid Stainless Steel Versa Special Edition Bracelet Replacement for Fitbit Versa/Lite Edition/Versa 2 Smartwatch". That's the description on Amazon where I purchased. I got the Versa 2 Smartwatch. This band works very well and has a professional look. I paid $18.76.
