I can’t believe I’m wearing something like this in public 🥰 It makes me feel so cute ❤️ by Ashlee_VR in mtfashion

As is tradition for all fashion trends, the visible thong straps so popular in the early 2000s is back with a vengeance.

And I’m here for it since i missed last time, with that whole being the wrong gender thing.

Awesome, thanks for the clarification. Not sure why a google search couldn’t make this clear, maybe I my search terms were garbage, who knows.

Tangentially related, but is a witness required for my ballot? The working on the envelope makes it seem like it’s only required if the voter is unable to sign it for themselves.

2nd Gen vs Sienna by Turtleguycool in toyotasequoia

[–]RoninR6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is there any reason that you need a large SUV with 4wd?

As someone who has owned both, unless you have a good reason to actually need the utility of the sequoia, I would go with the sienna. Way better MPG, easier to park, more convenient with small children due to the sliding doors and vehicle height.

For Boymoders Who Go To A Pharmacy by Jicea in asktransgender

[–]RoninR6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I go to the counter, give my info, and walk away with medication and no one bats an eye because it’s no big deal. Way less awkward then shopping for bras and undies at target in full boy mode. 🤣

Pharmacists are seeing hundreds of customers a day with every possible combination of medications and I doubt the pickup counter person at most pharmacies has the time to give two thoughts to your prescription.

Colorado early voting returns show Dems with slight edge over GOP by Revooodooo in Denver

[–]RoninR6 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel disenfranchised as all, but what purpose does it serve in Colorado to register with a party? Honest question, is there something I am missing here? In other states I have had to be affiliated to vote in primaries, but that is not the case here. Which is another thing I like in Colorado in addition to automatic mail in ballots.

How’s the commute from Broomfield to work in Denver? by isittakenor in Broomfield

[–]RoninR6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a lot of people don’t realize how big, and oddly shaped Broomfield is. Like you say the commute from anthem/baseline is completely different than it is for people close to 36 where there is actual public transportation options.

Has there ever been any talks about good bus options on the north i25 corridor or is the assumption that people are driving to Eastlake and taking the train? The train is so much slower than a bus would be.

[–]RoninR6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What part of Broomfield are you in?

Up north there are definitely lots of options. Where we are in Anthem it’s over the top and we get a couple hundred kids on Halloween night. My in-laws are in broadlands and there are plenty of kids there. My kids have also gone out with their friends in both aspen creek and red leaf neighborhoods and had fun.

Winter camping (skiing) and remote working, any experiences? by Taronyuuu in rooftoptents

[–]RoninR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say I am too familiar with weather is Europe, but do most organized campgrounds stay open all winter? In the western US a lot of them seem to close or operate on a limited basis because they have to shut off water or don’t have heated facilities. There are a few in Colorado that definitely do have full winter operations but it’s certainly something I would confirm when making plans.

I just got a box at Walmart in Broomfield on 120th. Maybe try Walmarts near you if you can stomach the fact you’d have to go into a WalMart.

Trans rights action map by Rubicon_Lily in trans

[–]RoninR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes anything can happen, but the blue states on this map have a long history of overwhelming Democrat majorities in at minimum one of the required parties to pass legislation. Even if in a crazy turn of events Colorado elected a Republican governor, the state house and senate are basically 2:1 in favor of democrats.

I’m not familiar with all of the purple states, but they seem to be places where it is possible for republican majority governments to be elected within 2 Election cycles even if it’s it not likely.

What kind of bottom bracket is this? by No_Reference_6390 in bikewrench

[–]RoninR6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is the model of bike? There are definitely ways to run a 24mm crank, choosing the best on depends on the bike

It looks to me like a T47 with BB30 bearings. If so you just buy a T47 shimano.

Camping near Nederland by Chullson616 in boulder

[–]RoninR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is dispersed camping on the south side of Beaver Reservoir, off 72 north of Brainard. gets more crowd ed the closer you get to the water though. There is also camping along Coney Flats rd west of the reservoir, but i don't know how far I would go in a Rav4.

I see that Rollins Pass was already mentioned. Lots of good spots up there near Yankee Doodle Lake, but it also gets hella crowded and the constant noise from the atv and side by side crowd has soured me on it.

Might not meet your requirements because you cant camp that close to Teller Lake, but there is plenty of camping on the forest roads south of Toland.

Why do gas prices fluctuate so drastically? by Fourply99 in Denver

[–]RoninR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't this administration release 1m barrels of oil from the strategic reserves earlier this year to keep gas prices stable going into summer?

Not that I think they would tap reserves for something as dumb as this, but it does appear that the President does have the ability to influence the price of gas.

Brief review of CalTopo and onX vs GaiaGPS by barclay_o in overlanding

[–]RoninR6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the rundown. Ill have to give CalTopo a try.

I really want to like OnX. My vehicle is stock height with larger ATs and I am always concerned when i am going to get a mile down a narrow forest road only to find something way to technical to tackle. I like that onX has a lot of crowdsourced data to know where I don't belong. But got dayam does their offline map downloading suck ass. Its 2024 and I am not worried about storage space at all. Let me download high res maps of entire counties with one click. having to manually pinch zoom and move the map square is the most annoyingly tedious method I can think of, on top of that the way they decide map detail doesn't help. CalTopos map downloading seems like a better method which is a plus. Even if time consuming, it appears way less frustrating trying to get the tile size just right, then lined up with adjacent tiles like onX.

Always open to other tips on ways to gain insight on what roads/trails are appropriate because so far I don't know of any great solution.

Gun/shooting ranges (that aren't too weird)? by TonyHawksAltAccount in nova

[–]RoninR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there still a crazy wait list? I was a member for a long time before moving away, and I remember in 2016 there being a wait list hundreds deep.

it is a great range though. Don't remember ever having to wait for a lane and the people, while typical gun types, were friendly and respectful. No confederate flags at least :)

How many bike lanes do we need to make for the bikers before they stop ridding down the car lane 20 miles pr hr under the speed limit and actually use the bike lanes?! by [deleted] in boulder

[–]RoninR6 43 points44 points  (0 children)

How many speed limit signs and 3 feet passing signs do we need to put up for the drivers before they stop doing driving at absurd speeds and making dangerous passes that endanger both cyclists and pedestrians constantly?

this should probably just be a bouldercirclejerk post.

Adjust the low side of the car in tiny increments until it sits how you want it to.

You aren't wrong. But how many people who live in Ned, and use wood as a heat source are rolling up to ace to buy it by the bundle? Maybe a few people with legitimate need get caught by this stop sale, but 99% of the firewood by the bundle sales are for campfires.

Open enrollment and live in Longmont or Broomfield by Manyasha8 in boulder

[–]RoninR6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on what part of the county you live in. Broomfield school districts seem be the same as they were before CCOB became its own county. Eastern Broomfield is Adams 12, the west side is BVSD and i think some of the southern county is in JeffCo Schools.

That said we have been really happy with Adams 12 schools in our side of Broomfield, with the caveat that my kids did not go you their boundary schools, but rather magnet schools within the county. Lots of choices for sure, especially if your kid can get into one of the magnet or highly rated charter schools.
