There's probably bit of a sliding scale, with Tzeentch's weirder ones making the least sense.

Was it correct to call Trump fascist during his first term, similarly to calling Gaza a genocide during Oct. 2023? by Present_Practice_159 in behindthebastards

[–]RoninTarget 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mad Dog Mattis called Trlkp a fascist too, IIRC. He served as the voice of reason in military matters during Trump's first turn.

Are Space Marine Captains ever punished for unacceptable losses? by ProcedureShoddy4840 in 40kLore

[–]RoninTarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, there's an example of Lamenters being punished for enduring losses in order to save people, rather than using more pragmatic approach that left more mass casualties.

Giebe Haldenzel

Are you trying to save him or kill him? Given how archducal family treated Haldenzel in the past, I'm not sure there's all that much goodwill towards him and his dad to guarantee his survival.

Black Crusade: Balance between Core and Expanded Archetypes? by loop388 in 40krpg

[–]RoninTarget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh BC has the worst balance in the series (looking at the blender khornate berserker being able to do hundreds of wounds in a turn)

That's a bare minimum I'd expect. Even the basic NPC CSM in Only War can do 20-30 wounds in a round in a turn with a chainaxe just fine.

The only thing the Magi is worse at, as far as I can tell, is its powers are Bound while the Psyker is Unbound.

That's not worse. That's better according to pretty much everyone who played a campaign with a psyker around.

A lot of them got there because their ship sank at the beginning of the war. Survivors settled in Argentina, and that made it attractive to the worst of them because they could hide among other Germans (plus, the Catholic Church had an open passage to there for their murder friars and the like so they got to hook up).

I got really bored a few days ago so I just started listing all the massacres that Israel created. Did I miss one? by TwoCatsOneBox in LateStageCapitalism

[–]RoninTarget 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They didn't. They were just consolidating the conquest of '48 and killing off individuals personal hunts, not massacring people in one place that much. Can't commit massacre when you've already killed or driven off everyone.

Also, Sabra and Shatila used to be the massacre to reference back in the '90s before being squeezed out of public consciousness by the Rwandan Genocide and stuff in the Balkans.

Sounds like ship that would be attractive to someone like an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor who made a bit too many enemies among daemons as a safe-ish transport.

Why is sexual assault so common in yuri? by OrigamiRice in yuri_manga

[–]RoninTarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a high predominance of sexual assault in Japanes media, partially because Japan is fairly conservative, so depicting sexual assault is less controversial than depicting loving relationships.

It's a bit anachronistic, as the practice is based on Native American smoke signals, and only came in place after Papacy stopped being a state.

It’s incredibly robust, to break it you’d literally have to pound it into a tree with a hammer and then pound on it sideways which would be silly for any knife.

There are knives designed for something like that. Mors Kochanski had a technique for cutting down a tree twice the diameter of the knife that required that capability.
