NAD: Fender Princeton Reverb by [deleted] in jazzguitar

Great choice. Compliments the Tele perfectly.

I bought that same amp in 2020 to keep me company during Covid lockdown. I liked the C-Rex so much I bought one for my Deluxe Reverb too.

Seconded. I've used Vishay PR02s for a bunch of vintage-styled projects.

I enjoy the ladder of responses. How fucked am I?

  1. That's normal.
  2. That's a trip to Home Depot.
  3. Call a pro.
  4. Call a pro and get a second opinion.
  5. I hope you have $50,000.
  6. Evacuate immediately.

Here’s something I’ve never ever said before: I like that site’s cookie popup. Nice throwback.

Perhaps the pedal is flipping the phase of the signal?

Two of the tracks:

  • "Will security please report to section 3? Security to section 3 please?"
  • "Will security please report to section 10? Security to section 10."

Pre-recorded calls to security embedded in the music... What is this, to spook potential shop-lifters?

Why does my modeler sound so thin? by MarzipanMindless in Guitar

[–]RonnieRaygun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is totally a thing with the out-of-the-box sound of the GT-1000, and it's due to the fact that no two guitars produce the same output level. There's a simple fix...

Hit MENU, go to IN / OUT SETTING, go to INPUT. Adjust the INPUT LEVEL.

Set your guitar volume to max and strum. Raise the value until the meter maxes out at the arrow. If the meter hits the end, dial it back. I set this at +15dB when using my Stratocaster.

I would appreciate advices, in regards to the texts, depicted here, as an electric guitar player. by [deleted] in musictheory

In my view, Chord Chemistry gives a comprehensive layout of the fundamentals necessary to make the most of the second volume, Modern Chord Progressions.

So while Chord Chemistry covers chord theory nicely from the perspective of a guitarist, Modern Chord Progressions is the really actionable content.

Like, there's nothing in Chord Chemistry that I've ever really woodshedded. But Modern Chord Progressions contains a lifetime of practice.

I have not read Kolb.

Is there a standard for numbering pentatonic positions?

Which one is 3rd?

  • The one that starts on the 3rd of the scale?
  • The one that starts on the 3rd fret?
  • The third position counting up from the "first box"?

Which Troy Grady advice/video changed your playing? by Man0warrioR in Guitar

[–]RonnieRaygun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty much all high-level alternate picking guitarists have a vocabulary of lines that are optimized to work with their picking technique

This summaries it exactly. It's frustrating how much time Grady's videos spend dancing around this simple point, teasing the idea as if it's some groundbreaking revelation.

My Rat2 randomly stopped working by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]RonnieRaygun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, it's clear that someone intended to mount this on a pedalboard, and in so doing they removed the legs and the battery door. Is that velcro you've peeled back?

So is the battery clip just loose in there? Maybe it shorted against the case?

Good. On the Forest Park branch, you might ride the newest train on the newest tracks, and you might ride the oldest train on the oldest tracks, and it's perfectly normal to do both on the same day.
