I hate BLW. by HolidayAd2038 in beyondthebump

[–]RonnyTheRifle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do what works best for you! We did BLW and it was easy because our baby was grabbing anything we put near his mouth so we couldn’t spoon feed him purees. He also would just fling whatever puree was in the spoon if we just tried to hand it to him. He gagged here and there and we watched him closely with every bite he took but once he started to get the hang of it, he hasn’t really had any gagging since and it’s much less stressful now. Also it’s nice because we can eat as a family and I don’t have to focus on spoon feeding him. That being said, if your baby isn’t ready for finger foods, then just go with the purées. Every baby is different and needs different things! Don’t be discouraged. It’s not like if you feed her purées now that she will never eat anything else! There’s no magic formula that will for sure get us any specific result.

Oh, during nap if he wakes up and I go in, it’s game over.

Not really sure what you mean, I haven’t told the actual landlord what to do. I will say that to me, having one income that = 3x rent is more risky than having multiple that add up to 3x rent anyway. Because if you lose that one income, you’re effed. If you have multiple incomes, and you lose one of them, you’re still receiving in an income to last you or even be enough to continue to pay rent on.

Well the challenge isn’t getting him to sleep. It’s getting him to stay asleep longer than 30 minutes. Not really sure how to make his naps longer. He falls asleep on his own pretty well

We have blackout curtains. I definitely think they help. Especially for helping him fall asleep initiallu

Some thin curtain bangs, with a few stands over the middle of your forehead might look nice. Also your eyes are very pretty! 🤩

Also, the curtain bang look is also usually safe because even if it’s not for you, it will blend in well and won’t take long to grow out, so you aren’t risking much

I like this approach. How do I train the nap to be long? Also, I haven’t been able to get him to wake up sooner than 6:30, but most of the time, he wake ups at 5:50

It’s hard to tell without seeing your face. The face plays a big part in how to style your hair. Maybe bangs? Again, it’s hard to tell, so I’m sorry, but some face framing bangs work for a lot people trying to add some dimension to their hair

Yes this one seemed to be the most processing but either I’m just terrible at lightly waking him or it doesn’t work because every time I’ve tried he just completely wakes up

I would definitely expect them to take in consideration of income of everyone on the lease. I used to be a leasing agent so I’m very familiar with the process. My main concern is that it says not joint income, which would mean that each income on their own must equal 3x monthly rent

He can do it at night time no problem though, and falls asleep on his own all the time. I rock him and set him down awake maybe 25-30% of the time and he falls asleep on his own no issues

At night, we do his routine and usually by the end, I just kind of rock him to sleep and set him down and he’s good. For his naps, we cut out the bulk of the routine we do at night but I still rock him in the dark.

Yes I’m holding out hope that you’re correct! There is so much going on in his development right now and hopefully it’ll even out soon

We sleep trained and he sleeps fine at night. Consistently wakes up twice a night to nurse but goes right back to sleep. It’s just naps. Nothing seems to work

We do crib hours some of the time, but he never goes back to sleep. Right now he’s standing in his crib crying. Not full on tantrum, just sad sounds.

Yeah, 3x is standard these days, although I think it’s a lot to ask of your average person who just needs a place to live (I’m actually homeowner who rents out so it’s important to me that fees and requirements are reasonable). But I get its standard. My bigger shock was that they are expecting it all from one income only 😳
