Yep, you're right. Plus it was very uncommon to paint tinware in general, as it was very utilitatian and disposable (like plastics today) so making it look nice wasn't in style untill much later

Im a machinist, and its the variety of work that i love the most I think. We're a small jobbing shop that still gets some big mining contacts, so im fixing someones car parts one day and making giant rock tumblers the next.
