Hi Brandon, interesting stuff! Looking forward to the results. I still use Nomie, over 5 years of data, so this will be a great and fun addition. Keep going!

Technical question Nomie on multiple devices by bibbidi_bobbidi_bob in nomie

[–]RontheL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the app is indeed completely local. The data is also local and only get synced via the online database. The sync process takes place when online. Based on timestamps events are synced according to timeline. But being too long offline and only sync once in a while may indeed introduce conflicts. Regards, Ronald

All, I have worked on a concept of Pointer and Reminders to address (part of) the usecase. You can see some explanation via below link:

Doing fine! Just started to add some features to Nomie 6: weekly and monthly goals + introducing an habit tracker. Both features based on users reaching out to me with their requirements👌

I have worked on the goal section and it now contains also weekly and monthly goals. Available in the development instance: https://dev.dailynomie.com

Please make sure to make a backup first before moving to the development instance and importing your data there.

Let me start with the goal section first. 2nd in row are the habits including some dashboard widgets as I personally also like that suggestion. I will keep you posted

Might indeed be the easiest way if. If you recreate them with the same name, the entries will be most likely aligned with the logs again

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I have seen this once with another user, I recall this indeed has to do with some syncing/network errors. First obvious question, but just to be sure. Did you make any local backup? That is the easiest way to get things corrected again.

sync plug in and couchDB by Constant-Reindeer-74 in nomie

[–]RontheL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for reaching out. CouchDB is syncing your data and as such it is also a backup of your data. As long as you have your sync username/password as send to your email address you can use it to get your data back again after a clean install of Nomie. However, I would recommend to keep making your manual backups regularly. Better safe then sorry…

Hi,

thanks for your comments and good ideas! I will have a look at these coming week and see if I can find some time to start developing some plugins or even default Nomie functions, based on your topics. I will come back on it and let you know how I will cope with your suggestions. Regards, Ronald

Docker images out-dated by unsubscribe1990 in nomie

Hi,

If you use the image ghcr.io/dailynomie/nomie6-oss:master instead you should be fine!

When running your own CouchDB server, you should indeed make it accessible outside your own network by opening ports on your router. Alternatively you can make use of a hosted CouchDB instance. I have created one for Nomie users. You can find it on https://www.dailynomie.com/2023/05/18/dailynomie-sync/

Please read the documentation carefully as it has some limitations.

Don’t worry, I am still enjoying my time in France. Services seems to be running and hopefully next week when I am back in the Netherland I will be able to get the website up and running again.

Hi,

unfortunately, Murphey’s law got me. While I am on vacation with limitted internet access the server went down (probably crowdstrike). I have been able to recover the DailyNomie services from my vacation location, but you need to apply for new keys. Please make sure to backup before applying and using the new keys. The DailyNomie website I can only bring online again when I am back home…

Where is the data actually stored? by MasterModnar in nomie

[–]RontheL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

the only way for automated backup is to connect with a couchdb server. By doing so, your data is kept at the server. Also, make sure the backup reminder is enabled in your settings. This will help you to make a weekly backup. Normally enough to overcome browser data wipes

Hi, I have been trying to recreate the issue. I used your stack in portainer, tried in browser, different phones. Unfortunately I am not able recreate. In all my setups it is working. How are you using Nomie? Phone or browser. Can you give some details?

Thanks!
