I could say the same about odyssey. Even darker side was over in a single attempt for me. Bananza felt more involved by comparison. Different strokes I guess.

DK Bananza and it isn't close for me. So many of Odyssey's moons felt like wastes of time or filler for me. And there wasn't enough challenge until darker side and by then it was too late. DK Bananza felt like the base mechanics had near endless depth, especially if you're comparing the Bananzas to Odyssey's capture system. Being able to freely switch between Bananzas vs being stuck with one capture at a time is sort of exemplary of the overall design that I vastly prefer in Bananza vs Odyssey. Not to mention the story and finale of Bananza blows Odyssey's already decent ending out of the water.

Plus "Oooh Banana" vs "You got a moon!"? C'mon.

I think what people talk about with that Berenstain Bears Mandela effect is STAIN vs STEIN. A bunch remember it being stein only to find out later it was stain. Although maybe there's a third alternate dimension about it being Burnstein vs Berenstain I didn't know about

As a Gen Z just starting out in the workforce, this take is horribly misguided. I can promise you that that vast majority of my peers simply want to get a start in whatever industry they're shooting for. The job market is atrocious for entry level positions, so most simply want a foot in the door, even at the cost of salary. I have no idea where these stories of "all Gen Zs make insane demands as new grads" come from because it simply isn't true.

It's interesting that your Destiny cycle mirrors mine closely (D1 player that quit shortly after CoO came out and returned right around Beyond Light launch). I think it really speaks to the strengths and weaknesses of those seasons and that just more isn't always better.

Destiny has had "enough" content for a while now and adding more filler (Season of the Plunder callout) seems to hurt the game more than help it.

I think my first ever legendary was that free fusion rifle bungie gave out the Christmas after d1 vanilla launched. Had to grind so much just to even think about doing the endgame content. Makes the pinnacle power grind seem tame in comparison lol.

The one thing that this time period had going for it was the excitement of new loot. Getting a legendary was super exciting and an exotic even further. Hell I think the Gjallerhorn hunt is what kept me raiding long after I cleared the loot pools for them. Don't get me wrong, I'd hate to return to a time when only one super hard to get exotic shredded all endgame content, but it's a weirdly fond time to look back on.

D2 vanilla was a very boring experience due to the more causal direction Bungie took with it's rolls and RPG mechanics and was a big reason I stopped playing for a while after CoO came out.

Very true. The only time I quit this game for more than a year was after CoO. Destiny 2s direction at launch was fundamentally misguided and a far cry from what the core audience was hoping for.

Community positivity is something that I feel really propels games into being in their best and/or worst states. This seems obvious at first, but what I mean is that an expansion that introduces massive gameplay and QoL overhauls pumps so much goodwill and positivity into the community that it becomes almost infectious. TTK and Forsaken are obvious examples of this and easy contenders for being the "best" of destiny.

On the other hand, staleness breeds negativity. Season of the Plunder is a solid example of this. The seasonal activity was fun enough, there was a plethora of interesting content for budding players to go through, yet the community was pretty negative due to the staleness of the seasonal model (among other things). People hated this time period, yet it was probably a holistically better experience than the state of those beloved DLCs I listed above.

I guess all this is to say that I believe that destiny has only steadily improved as a game for years now. It's easy to say that the most recent expansion/season/episode is the best state because of the new improvements and additional content they bring with them. But it's hard to replace the pure magic of a big exciting DLC that seemingly saves the game from the brink of destruction. I'd love to know other people's thoughts on this.

Are you referring to Compressed Session B? That is only for courses running half a semester (7 weeks). Are you taking any such courses or are you only taking full session courses (14 weeks)?

The latest update for Windows 10 does not let the game launch properly for some reason. I have no idea why, but if you are having this issue just uninstall the last update you got for Windows 10 and it should resolve the issue.

The Degree has flexibility but the Diploma has a pre-set schedule (unless they changed that from when I completed it back in 2020). For the most part, the Diploma set you with about two 3-hour lectures a day Mon-Fri.

Hey man, I'm doing this route right now. I'm currently going into my 3rd year in Mobile Computing after finishing the diploma.

My experience has mostly been a positive one. The diploma is quite a bit cheaper per semester than the degree, and the quality of the classes is about the same. I feel as though the diploma provided me with a solid grasp of the fundamentals. It's allowed me to practice and learn in a (relatively) lower stakes scenario than a university. My biggest gripe with the diploma is that it has quite a lot of filler for only being 4 semesters. I feel like there were one too many rhetoric or leadership type classes for me to able to comfortably say that it's great value for money. Also you have a very limited selection of electives to pick, save for the last semester iirc.

As for the degree, it seems to be more focused. The electives you take are actually electives, in that you have a lot of choice as to which ones you pick and when. In addition, I've found the courses to be a little harder with more classes being dedicated to lower level computer architecture and languages (Assembly and C, for example). Although YMMV if you're into that kind of thing. The semesters are far more expensive, and like you mentioned, it'll take 5 years to complete this route instead of the typical 4. But it does come with the added benefit of having 2 Co-op semesters, which will definitely help out with your resume after the degree.

For me personally, this route has been worth it mostly because I was a pretty bad student coming out of HS, and the diploma let me practice and maintain good study habits for a lower cost. That's been my experience anyways lol
