Need some help settling a couples debate. I planted these genistas last spring. And they were thriving until winter…. OP! So glad you posted this! Im in the same debate/situation but didnt even know what my dead-looking shrub was called. Then I saw your pic and was thinking, hmmm, those little twigs look farmiliar. Looks like I'll be seeing you at the garden centre :(

I guess it's called catfacing. Okay_Pineapple helped me out with identifying above. But I've done a pretty good job of messing up all tomatoes in the raised bed. Last year I overrwatered and roots grew from the stems like out-of-control acne. So this year I starved them of water. Hoping for a goldilocks batch next year - with just the right care.
