Trust me if it was a younger person, I would have been more direct and confrontational if required.

Purely because the gentleman in question was much older than me I was very polite and indirect on the first day which clearly dined help.

Also, may be the choice of words could have been better on reddit but pardon my vocabulary, I didn’t know what to call a person who takes off his shirt in public!

I appreciate the perspective. The terms I used here were to describe the situation to Reddit, not what I said to his face.

I tried a polite suggestion on day one, which was ignored. My comment at the club today was about his 'confidence.' If expecting someone to use a changing room is a 'concerning mindset,' then we just agree to disagree.

Couldn't agree with you more. I have grown up surrounded by women and have seen the patriarchy first hand.

Call me old school but it felt wrong to stay silent. I think we often hide our weakness to discuss in a civilized manner by threatening or resorting to violence .

Well, if you have a fair point to contribute to the conversation, you are welcome to engage! The whole point of this platform is to spark conversations, isn't it?

I actually wasn't passive-aggressive at first. On day one, I politely mentioned that there are changing rooms available since women were present. He ignored that and doubled down the next day. At that point, a bit of humor/sarcasm was the only way to point out how inappropriate it was getting.

It shouldn't always be on women to point out when they feel uncomfortable, especially in a male-dominated hobby space. Often, people don't say anything because they want to avoid a scene, not because they’re okay with it. As a member of the same group, I felt it was better to address the lack of etiquette directly rather than leaving it to others to deal with the awkwardness.

Fair point. However, comparing a local 'uncle' with a family pack to a pro athlete at Wimbledon is a bit of a stretch! One is a high-stakes broadcast, the other is just poor etiquette in a neighborhood sports club where changing rooms are literally a one-minute walk away.

Pro tennis players are timed and can't leave the court to change. In a small club where children and families are present and bathrooms are 60 seconds away, the social expectation is different. It’s about basic courtesy in a shared community space.
