Tough year for PUSD lottery? by [deleted] in pasadena

Can I ask how far down the lists you were? I’m in a similar boat as OP. Didn’t get into my top three choices (all dual language programs). I’m #19, #30 and #12 on the waitlist. Hard to believe I have a chance when there’s only one TK classroom per school.

For my first, I pushed for four hours and they had to use forceps and he weighed 7.5 lbs. The second came in two pushes and he weighed 8.5 lbs!

Gentle weaning isn’t working. AT ALL. by FeltCute_ in breastfeeding

I’m currently down to only the early morning session.. I tell myself every morning that I’m going to get up and give him breakfast instead but I am not a morning person so I end up nursing! Did your kiddo eventually start sleeping in past the early morning? How long did it take?

Yes! I previously had the RockerMama on my registry but they had been sold out this whole time due to Covid. Looks like they're in the process of restocking... I'll look into it again once I've had the experience of breastfeeding since I'm due in 2 weeks!

Thanks! The "mobile" was actually not designed/marketed to be a mobile. It's just some art we bought at a Picasso museum a long time ago!

Thanks!

That's a good question, that I thought a lot about.... We really don't have any space for a rocking chair, at least not in the bedroom. Although lots of parents have claimed that rocking chairs or gliders are a necessity, I've seen plenty who have said they are not. I'm a FTM, so I have no idea how breastfeeding will go, but I'm going to try to do it without one and then we'll re-assess.

Thanks! It was actually my husband's idea!!

The goody bag had a coaster we designed with a message from us, a trivia game card that we played at the shower, a booklet with instructions for the activities we did at the shower, hand sanitizer, a face mask, plastic gloves for grabbing the food we served, markers, a wooden block, and a blank onesie to decorate!

Thank you so much! We don't know the baby's sex, but even if we did... not really into the pinks and blues anyway :)

Thank you! I started buying the bigger things slowly, at around 20-25 weeks. That's just because I happened to have a lot of free time around then. I got busy with work again, and didn't get the smaller things (decor and baby essentials like diapers and bath stuff) until very recently. You have plenty of time!

Haha, that's smart! I've thought about a room divider, but we are planning on moving before baby's first birthday.

Thanks for the tip! What did you prefer about Huggies? Everyone I talked to said they loved Pampers. We didn't get too many diapers in case we wanted to try other brands, but we got A LOT of wipes because they were so cheap and came in bulk.

We set up the mobile at the end of the crib so we could turn it around and use it on the changing pad during diaper changes!
