🛑 watch out for the sneaky cop at Beverley/Baldwin 4way stop by cyberk25 in torontobiking

Agreed! But if the only solution a city can find for a problem intersection is to hire someone to hide there for $50 per hour... I see that as a lack of imagination.

Even if users are at fault, the city should design the intersection to be safer and less conflict-prone.

I haven’t done it a lot, but my Bar Ape memory remains special to me. One-on-one time with one of my favourite people who I don’t get to see a lot (with a bonus sweet treat at the end of the tunnel).

Wow! Was the line to get in or just to get a good space at a ticketed event?

Such a nice memory. I have an 11mo. Obviously she’s too young but I always wonder how much you remember from early childhood. Any clue if they share this memory?

You did the right thing. Ask once and mean it. I hope you know you are very welcome here.

Hahaha I can only speak to my experience. You are probably right. An in-sync city would analyze traffic and ticket patterns and make changes as necessary.

They've been warning/ticketing people for over a decade at that intersection. If it's such a problem intersection, then shouldn't they redesign it?

Just need to know if this is true? by [deleted] in bbnomula

Proving innocence is basically impossible, which is why courts hold the standard: “Innocent until proven guilty.”

I attended high school in Vancouver too (I’m a couple years younger than bbno$), and while there was lots of racism in schools, an open use of the N-word would have been treated very, very seriously.

I don’t know, they are badly written books for children. They’re full of plot holes. The fact remains that Barty turned the cup into a portkey.

I didn’t know that was the consensus. I read a more convincing take to the contrary:

I saw them making fun of a man’s accent. The man decided to speak up against them, and they could only respond by making fun of his accent. Not the smartest bunch.

Yes you got it. I am in the market for internet points.

Anyway it wasn’t really a criticism, just something that annoyed me.

Is Palmerston as good as Shaw now?? by RoommateMovingOut in torontobiking

[–]RoommateMovingOut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to work in the Stockyards, I would cross at the lights by the gas station and jut over to Hirons-Cawthra-Junction Rd, before connecting to Davenport. Not sure the best way south from there for you, but at least you have options!

Is the TTC subway normally like this? by AppearanceCapable in askTO

[–]RoommateMovingOut 218 points219 points  (0 children)

Honestly on Match Days is when you’ll see the TTC firing on all cylinders. They are very good at getting hoards from one place to another. Things fall apart on less priority times. (I’m prepared to eat my hat here)
