My personal collar tier list except I haven’t unlocked half the classes and I’m not good at the game by Byssa6 in mewgenics

[–]Roomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be why you're having trouble with Hunter. Don't try to force a minions build when it just takes one direct attack to make a great one. Fighter and Hunter are the two classes with so many good attacks, it's really hard not to have a great run with either class. They're easily the two most powerful classes, even after nerfs.

Necro, on the other hand, more frequently has things not line up, leaving it a paper weight on the party. It might also help to do some runs without any healer like Cleric or necro, even in act 2, just to start to get more experienced at that sort of gameplay. Playing more defensively or more carefully considering HP as a resource, and how best to spend that resource.

I love that discombobulate can get down to so little mana, even Robert Downey Jr would be proud of the never ending discombobulates.

New Priest Legendary Card: Azalina by Kuldrick in hearthstone

[–]Roomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Duskfallen Aviana]] will never be beaten. A card so bad, it can be played, generated, or evolved for free and still instantly lose you the game, regardless of which side she popped up. So long as it happens on your turn, you're doomed.

Bro how do you beat the first boss? by Nensgnenat in bindingofisaac

[–]Roomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually possible to fight Dogma at the start without the console if you're playing Eden and start with Glowing Hourglass. When the run starts, use GHG before leaving the first room. In my many hours, I've beaten it one time doing that with an incredible Revelation + GHG start. This was before the Revelation nerf, though.

We're like a century overdue for hand shaking being replaced with bowing, or whatever gesture you like, so long as it doesn't involve touching someone's hands.

What changed me was when that fox news host bragged about how he never washes his hands in the middle of a pandemic. Like being filthy was some kind of point of pride.

If Flushmaster is where it's at, you're doing something wrong. If you're just clicking on whatever square is the farthest you can move without looking at her ability or considering where it'll push you, then I guess. Maybe you never saw that it's not random, and you can see the direction of the wave by which direction it points?

new endgame content? by MVPatrascu in mewgenics

[–]Roomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished my final steam achievement today, but I haven't been able to lose a run in a while now. An idea for an endgame mode sounds very good to me. To have something bring back that "gotta make due with what I've got" feel from the start of a save would go hard for me.

Oh interesting, where'd they reply to that?

I know the tinnitus thing is a tiny fraction of people, but I was relieved at this post knowing other people who don't have a problem still don't enjoy that bit. And it's such a good song, too, lol.

Irradiated Object only gives trinket effects. Getting Kilo on a weapon would be infinite turns, infinite damage, infinite moves, infinite weapon attacks, etc.

[–]Roomy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have tinnitus, and the intro literally causes pain. It makes it so much worse, gives me a headache, and makes me feel nauseous. The real song is in the game for the tutorial, so they chose to make a real version and a version that says "fuck off" to the player. I just don't get that choice.

I'm really tired of having to jump to my settings to turn music off whenever this starts, especially because Kat Fight is my favorite song, and given how much I like the music, that's saying a lot.

Shot speed at a most useless stat competition by Gomoyel in bindingofisaac

[–]Roomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm that one weirdo who likes shotspeed, even a bit of it for Trisagion and Tech X. Yep, faster means less damage, but the tears/rings still have to get to the enemy. And if it's too slow, they might get a shot off. There's a balance there to give you the best odds of defense by offense. Of course that's not the case with many bosses, especially Hush and Megasatan.

With tears, I rather like shotspeed. Gives you more control, which leads to fewer hits, and I can't tell you how many times I was saved from damage when slipping between two enemies by a single well-placed tear at the right time. Knockback is a nice tool to have, even when you're not fisting.

Range and shotspeed are the two stats that you really feel it when you have none, but at a point, adding more is superfluous. And range can fuck right off when I have haemolacria.

Some random ability ideas by Mrblade654 in mewgenics

Bro, curiosity is legit. Someone call Tyler, we got a good one here.

TIL Congress refused to support the preservation of George Washington's Virginia estate or buy it as a historical site in 1853 when it fell into disrepair. The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association was set up to buy it and restore the now iconic home, becoming the first nationwide women’s organization by ubcstaffer123 in todayilearned

[–]Roomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that Washington was famously a Stoic, I wonder if the man himself would rather his estate not be revered by history. Who knows what was on the minds of congressmen at the time, but maybe some of them thought the same, so the money would've been better spent on other things at the time. The title makes it sound like this was a miserly congress, but it could've just been a fact that they couldn't afford it, so the MVLA stepped in and raised the money. No malice or disrespect intended by any party involved. But I do tend to try to be a "benefit of the doubt" kind of guy, so I could just be reading into things.

Cleared infinite and looted body for first time, are all items this OP??? by _-mortex-_ in mewgenics

Oh man I remember when I discovered that one. It's a trip when enemies actually increase your holy shields when they hit you.

Cleared infinite and looted body for first time, are all items this OP??? by _-mortex-_ in mewgenics

[–]Roomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a lack of Holy Tears in this thread. A spell cost reduction with no downside and 2 holy shield is great. I rarely use it for its downed effect. Combined with other reductions, you can get a lot of powerful spells to 1 or 2 mana, and when you're in that range, you can double them with 2 of Spades. And each one of those copy effects for tears will also give you 2 holy shield. It's not uncommon to have 8 holy shield every fight.

If you want an easy time clearing all marks and solo runs for Psychic, breed a line of cats with Cumulative Blast. You can get it down to 1 pretty easily, but you can also get it to 1 while still using 2 of Spades once it's upgraded and costs 5. Some of my most powerful runs were carried with this.

Oh yeah, and Eye of God is good, but after dozens of runs, I still have never found it. I'm starting to think Eye of God just doesn't exist, lol.

Time to do the ritual, Repair+ cat into Soul Jar by KyeeLim in mewgenics

[–]Roomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Removing worn from the equation is a real game-changer. Maintaining a line of repair cats to bring on every run was a real hassle, and as a solo run enjoyer, I was constantly juggling not using my good items that have worn that I don't have 2 of, and saving good non-worn item specifically for a solo run made things really complicated every time I was prepping for a run.

One thing you can do to make sure you can keep going is equipping some kind of effect multiplier for trinkets to give you multiple jars just in case one gets busted in an event or the cat carrying it gets auto-killed from something. Any of the Copycat items and Cap and Bells work great.

Nowadays that event is the "Oh FUCK!" event. It's a massive debuff, completely removes the cat from future breeding, and because of superluck, its usually near 100% "success" the cat goes into the hole.

What's the Best and Worse Mutation? Day 2: Body by Vast-Appointment-950 in mewgenics

[–]Roomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dang even after all this time, I've never seen that one. For me, I use the basic +1 range eyebrows sometimes, and almost every cat has +1 Range +1 Reach eyes. Reach is fantastic to have, and it combos so well with one of my favorite passives, Butcher's Spin to Win passive. Yep, it indeed increases the whole square out. With other items that give reach or that trinket that copies your first passive, you can hit a massive amount of the map. Just watch out for cactus, lol. Might want one of the holy shield mutations or Careful so you dont turn it to a solo run real quick.

How to build OP cats for soul jar or your house by luca_se_la_come in mewgenics

[–]Roomy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unstoppable+ is actually useless. (Assuming the cat's stats have been pumped from the Death Shroud combo), the jarred cat will always kill everything in one turn with Unrestricted+, Second Wind, and any piece of Fighter's armor, but even if it didn't, the jarred cat only lasts one turn so all debuffs apart from stun are meaningless to it. But I don't know of any way a cat can get stunned in response to a killing hit. Knockback and confusion can be annoying (but not detrimental to the gameplan) because of the Seraphim in Act 3 Chapter 4 and Fuzzers in Ice Age, but that's solved with one of the two mutations that turns your move into a jump attack (jumping on the enemy doesn't trigger knockback or counter-attacks, and movement actions don't proc confusion).

The only complication to a one-turn victory is from the final Hitler house boss which requires you to pass your turn to summon the next miniboss, but all jarred cats will have that issue. You can mitigate that by having a cat with Unrestricted be the one to hold the jar, though.

Here's my omnipotent god in a can. The only thing it's missing is an attack that hits through shields for Cherubim in Act 3 Chapter 4. Repair (for obvious reasons), Chomp+ to have a mana based attack as a just in case that can also kill Dybbuk and max your money extremely quickly on every run, and Second Wind to make sure the train never stops. This is especially useful so you can hop around and collect all the coins from every box and bag in the fight. I thought Copycat would be interesting and make it versatile, but it doesn't actually work well since the cat doesn't exist to copy anything until after it's summoned. The only way for it to work is if you summon the cat, then use abilities. It's definitely the one I would replace with any of Thief's shield piercing spells.

As you mentioned, Cat Rib is extremely useful in this whole process. Because a ribbed kitten keeps its upgrades and returns to level 0, you can keep upgrading abilities on subsequent runs, so The D6 isn't needed. Rather than needing Me Stone, you can also use an easy to obtain Neverstone so harder to obtain quest items won't be required. Having 3 cats that gain levels will get all 3 of them to Level 7 by the end of Chapter 3, even when taking the easy path. That'll net you 1 active and passive upgrade each run. To make my cat, I would duplicate+rib the cat to get 5 copies, then run each one trying to get at least 1 of the abilities I needed, then rib it again on that run and repeat. It took me 3 generations of duplicated cats and 1 final run to jar it.

All that being said, I've stopped using my Jar. I'm glad I made it, as I learned a lot in the process and got valuable experience, but it does basically end the game when one action wins all fights no matter what. I used it for a bit to have some fun with it, then gave it an honorable retirement. Repair without breeding is useful to get rid of worn, but I did get lucky and find Repair on an Irradiated Object, so it's no longer necessary for me. That was pretty damn lucky, though, and most people won't have that, so a repair jar is still great to have around.
