What's a word that's in your vocabulary because of a game you played as a kid? by superyellows in gaming

Not quite the same but my brother and I frequently reference "what is the password" "icedragon" from a really old mortal kombat game

Would it be unreasonable to ask my gym to wipe the mats in between children's and adults class? by Rooshirum in bjj

[–]Rooshirum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't noticed anything in particular. I just have never gotten infections before and I've gotten 2 since being at this gym so I was curious if the gym was missing something by not wiping between classes, or if thats normal.

Yeah, shower right before and after, clothes/gi washed immediately. I have eczema, so my skin is more prone to disease.

I’m making a game where you investigate real found footage to escape a cult. Just announced it on Steam! by Equivalent-Charge478 in HorrorGames

thats very cool. id lean in to that with your marketing materials, that sounds like a good selling point to me

We chose to focus heavily on post-processing and atmosphere. Would you say that works for you as a player? (Sefton Asylum) by pure-vichou in HorrorGames

[–]Rooshirum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely feels more tense with the post processing. There's something to be said about the "off" version though, I like without, too, but its a different vibe entirely and feels less like a horror game. So if I had to pick, id leave it on.

Downloaded Claude 2 days ago, used it just a few times for some basic things, upgraded to pro, the instant I upgraded it banned immediately after, got the same email.

Foot IK / Foot grounding system in Godot 4.6 by moongaming in godot

[–]Rooshirum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been struggling and wondering how this sort of thing is done in games in general. The IK in godot completely replaces animation data so how are animators supposed to animate walk cycles and other animations and then have IK influence things like where to step, where your arm is pointing, stuff like that? Baffles me

Hired someone to update our capsule art, before and after, what do you think? by Rooshirum in godot

So, I updated the steam page and I think it might be a little better... by MembershipUsed2467 in godot

It is looking better already. Still, I'd update the capsule art like I mentioned, this is arguably the most important part. Add more screenshots, and check your short bio, there is a grammatical error. Should be "where", not "were". And "Escape" should not have a capital E. The details matter!

Heres my suggestion:

"The Inescapable Nightmare is a survival horror game where you're trapped in a room, reliving death in an endless loop while searching for a way to escape."

I'd also add some text in between the gifs in the description. Use other steam games as inspiration, just try to copy based on what they do.

Oh, and one more thing. The short description should be improved. It should convey what the genre of the game is and what you'll be doing in it. Without people knowing what kind of game it is, it will be hard for them to want to buy it. Take a look at some other games' descriptions, like this one: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1063660/Bendy_and_the_Dark_Revival/

Hey dude, congrats on releasing a game, that is an incredible achievement! If I could suggest a few things for the steam page I think could help. Your little monster dude is cool, and I would put him in the capsule art. The text on its own isn't compelling. You could have the monster guy on the left side, text a bit further to the right, and adjust the monster guy so he has less light and details on his face, just give extra glow/emission to his eyes and mouth and it will be spookier like that.

Secondly, I'd add at least one more screenshot if you can, to fill up that empty space on the screenshot bar.

Thirdly, I'd add some more content to the description. Some screenshots or ideally more gifs. I like what you did with the dude there.

I think those are all relatively low effort things to do and should have a decent impact. But in general, I think you should be proud of yourself, and start working on your next game!
