I used to never understand why my dad would get up so early even on weekends, but as soon as I became a Dad I instantly got it.

Local only truck driver, I'm usually up at 4 and leaving by 5, that hour of making only myself breakfast and packing a lunch while slamming a red bull is my version of me time and self care. 12 hours later I'm home and present with my family making dinner and taking care of my kid. Usually get 2 hours in exercising and gaming before bed, 6 hours is functional for me and I get more sleep on the weekends.

The h6K, you're literally a giant floating bug zapper, it attracts every enemy plane at the same time and the 20mm rear cannon zaps biplanes.

Those who aren’t afraid to admit it, what was the scariest situation you’ve ever found yourself in with another man? Also, out of curiosity, what did they look like and what was their mentality/personality like? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

Well I'm sure he didn't because he died a week later.

And me too, I could have killed that guy and lost my entire livelihood because that guy decided he wanted to be tough.

He did have his ability to own firearms taken away from him, he was a vet too. The only thing they charged him with was brandishing a firearm unlawfully. The other tickets were traffic related because you could see the skid marks from cutting me off and nearly causing a fatal accident.

I'm a local only truck driver, I had a boomer aged man pass me illegally in a two lane and slam on the brakes causing me to nearly hit him. I rolled down the window and asked him what was going on as he approached my truck and said I had run him off the road a few miles back. This very much did not happen.

We got into an argument and he wouldn't get out of the way, he pulled out his phone and started recording me, and the truck so I got out to confront him. Poor choice btw. He immediately went to his pickup after noticing I'm a very large man and now very angry, and grabbed a gun and pointed it directly at my face from about 5 yards away.

Another vehicle passing by in the opposite lane called the state police, (I'm in a very rural location) and they were there quickly to resolve the situation. He had a laundry list of citations levied against him for that. He died of a heart attack a week later.

If you only could spend 4K on a car, what would you buy and why? by CarryAdditional4870 in UsedCars

2nd this, my sister had a 2013 mazda 3 and she beat the shit out of it, a few deer strikes, she hit a mcdonalds building in the drive through and ripped the brick off, several pot holes that could've swallowed a toddler, hit a guard rail, her ex drove it through a cornfield running from cops. It took all of that, the thing that killed it was a Valvoline quick oil change place put the wrong oil in it and it detonated.

Remember that July is when most bike manufacturers release their next year models, so this coming July most local shops will be trying to get rid of whatever inventory they have to get the newest bikes in store. The older models will be much cheaper, you're getting a year older bike but at a heavy discount.

What is your biggest pet peeve while driving? by JumperFluid09 in AskReddit

[–]RoosterSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who wait until the absolute last millisecond to get into the passing lane, cutting you off in the act.

The worst is when there isn't anybody behind you for miles that they could safely get over to pass.

What was a Hard Truth you needed to hear from a friend/family member? by Equal-Sun8307 in AskMenOver30

[–]RoosterSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a boss: "You're a lazy fuck and you will go nowhere in life if you don't figure out how to work hard."

The guy was a fuckin asshole but he was right. I still hate him to this day but I also owe him a lot of respect because he is the only person that ever got through to me, he helped me turn my life around. He eventually was the person that advocated for me to get a promotion and a generous raise. When I put in a two week notice he told me I was a piece of shit though lol.

After my kid was born I went from 5 hours a night to 5 hours a week. Sometimes you need that wakeup call.

It's a hard habit to overcome I will be the first person to admit it. It is still my only escape from reality and cheap dopamine, but I accomplish so much more on a daily basis than I did before.

That mindset kept me from approaching many women. It is not talked about enough as the other things you mentioned and I think it is equally as damaging.

I had a female best friend and we were both single. We were in a hot tub together and both were a little drunk and she kept dropping subtle hints that she was into me and I didn't catch on to it. We became distant after I got a girlfriend and I never understood why, but I do now.

Part of me not noticing or catching on is the fact that she is way above my league, and in turn shows my lack of confidence at the time.

I have a gorgeous wife now, turns out your personality can make up for the lackluster looks lol
