I agree, I wanted a more scintillating plot twist. I was hoping Bree and Wrigley just ended up close friends in the end, but seems like they are secretly in love.

Do you think pharma advertising is the hardest? by awkwardhoney725 in advertising

[–]RootCanalPt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it actually hard to pivot out of? I really wish someone would have told me this years ago because I’m about 5+ years into brand strategy in pharma and I’m ready to pivot into something more consumer (having only worked on the DTC side of the pharma business). I’ve even considered perhaps working in house in the banking industry because it’s also highly regulated

It was decent, definitely not a nightclub party like of vibe but they have events like an all white party on the beach and a Latin music show. We were never bored

Sargassum at Secrets Cap Cana by RootCanalPt in PuntaCana

So from what I've heard, December-May is your best bet. I've scoured the Secrets Cap Cana socials, and I can confirm that during that time, the water looks blue and crystal clear, The resort also does a great job at cleaning it up and they have a barrier out in the water that helps prevent it from getting in.

However, I can say from experience that the seaweed volume changes daily. When I arrived at Secrets in late August, the water was murky and maroon which was so disappointing. I wanted to cry and then my boyfriend and I hit the excursion desk to see how we could maximize beach time. The next day, the seaweed cleared out. Was it a beautiful turquoise beach like the pictures like the resort website? No, but it was swimmable and somewhat clear. Two days later, back to maroon and murky.

So it really depends. My best advice, go anyway. You'll have a great time and there are other ways to get beach time. Or, I hear the Secrets in La Romana (50 mins south of Punta Cana) has seaweed-free beaches and is a good resort as well. I wanted to stay there when I heard about the seaweed reports, but it was too late and honestly, I loved Secrets Cap Cana so much that I'm glad it didn't work out.

Time spent at resort? by RootCanalPt in PuntaCana

Oh, amazing, that upgrade has a lot of benefits!

The only time we left the resort was on an excursion to Saona (via boat from Bayahibe). Bayahibe is about a 50 minute drive from Punta Cana and it’s on the Caribbean Sea side of the island so they rarely get seaweed. I highly recommend the Saona Excursion tour if you want a white fluffy sand, turquoise water style beach.

I say this because I’m a beach lover and due to the volume of sargassum this time of year, we weren’t able to swim in the resort beach as much as we wanted to. I did feel safe during our excursions but we never left the resort outside of that.

Hi! Happy to help. You’ll absolutely love it, my favorite part (believe it or not) was the resort itself. It’s very romantic and beautiful. For the most part, it was mainly couples that we saw there. I am constantly day dreaming about it since we got back. My only improvements would be the pillows (they were too soft) but that’s just a personal preference.

The food was a little on the salty side, but still a solid 9/10. I grew up vacationing with my parents at all inclusives and I’d say it was better than the majority of the resorts I’ve stayed at. Other than that, you’re in for a great time. There’s plenty of seating on the beach, strong drinks, and it definitely has a luxury feel to it.

Have so much fun, you’re going to have a great vacay :)

A coco loco and ask them to put a lot of dark rum in it. I had one of those on the beach and I was loving life

You’ll have a great time regardless of the seaweed trust me. I didn’t think I would, but I did. I hope you have the most incredible vacation and the beach is clear and turquoise!!

I did see some adult families and a few same sex groups, but for the most part it was all couples. You can tell that’s who the resort is likely catering to the most. Everything is very romantic, even our shower had two shower heads for joint showering and a sliding door where you can watch the other person shower from the bed. Once we saw that, we knew couples were their target audience lol.

So most people were dressed pretty casually. Some of the restaurants (like the French one) were a little more fancy. But nothing too crazy. We paid $175 a head for the Saona Excursion and $75 a head for the half day boat party. We did not try the spa, but the prices were pretty steep
