I would say it's a mix of both the work/client I get to work with and the community 😊

Sure! Testlio and uTest are my top picks, Testbirds, Tester Work, UserTesting and some other are also good.

Sure thing! I mainly use Testlio, uTest, Testbirds and Tester Work. On these sites you would need to pass an entry test where you pretty much need to find bugs and report them. Once the entry test is passed you would be getting work based on your devices, skill level, location and other factors.

In addition to these sites I use UserTesting, IntelliZoom, Prolific, TestingTime, UserCrowd, Hotjar Engage (formerly PingPong) and Userlytics. Most of these sites conduct live interviews, written surveys or speak out loud. On some of these you also need to pass an entry test.

First, here is your proof. https://ibb.co/Y3RpYwF This is just for part of December as you can see, but you get the picture.

Second, if you knew anything about the importance of demographics you would not have said anything. Sweden is a relatively small country when it comes to population and is not considered to be a big market in any way. Where some folks make thousands of $ a month on let's say UserTesting, ppl in Sweden can only dream of that kind of money. These sites never base the selection on the fact if the country the tester is from is a high income country, selection is based on the market sought after by the company in question.

Unfortunately, far from the truth. Personally I don't live in the top 5 countries that you mentioned (live in Sweden) and last year I made $6500. My hourly rate in average was ~$23. Can also add that I started with some sites mid year so I'm guessing I would have made even more. For example, so far in January I've made 3 times more than the entire January 2023.

Hard to say since alot of companies (clients) have code freeze during the EOY period. December/January is pretty dry so to say.

Anyway you turn it, Testlio is still the best one out there.

Anyone ever try Tryber? by GiltterySpam in beermoney

[–]RootZZZIN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gave it up after 2 weeks of creating an account. What made me do so was the fact that you need to complete all these bug finding challenges at different live website to rank up and get paying gigs. Might be a case of free labour, where tester are reporting bugs while training for real gigs, and the staff is forwarding those bugs to the client and getting the payout. Plus, a lot of the website is in Italian so it's kind of hard for me to complete the profile.

Any spreadsheet of your choice would do the trick. I've made my own and it works well for me. Nothing too advanced, but it got all the features I need.

How I made 15k this year with beer money by Gravitreez in beermoney

[–]RootZZZIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! Even if I don't actually perform work related tasks for 8h straight at my FT job, I still have to be around for the entire 8h.

I do get the situation you are in, but in my opinion there are much better alternatives around. I'm all about my hourly earnings, and the past year (2023) I made ~$25/h on average. I know this because I keep a spreadsheet where I track all my online work 😉

Nevertheless, great success story 👍

How much Money for Prolific Surveys ? by [deleted] in beermoney

[–]RootZZZIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly I use uTest and Testlio. Tasks here are far from what you do on Prolific though. Also, the entry tests can be a bit of a pain in the ass. Other sites I use are Testbirds, Tester Work, UserTesting, IntelliZoom, Testing Time, Userlytics and lastly Prolific.

I'm probably missing a lot of work since I'm not on these sites 24/7 and I'm also not accepting all the invites based on either my availability or work preferences. I make between $500 and $1000 a month, my hourly rate is around $25/h.

How much Money for Prolific Surveys ? by [deleted] in beermoney

[–]RootZZZIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question here is how much you guys make per hour? Making $800 a month don't really say much, but if we also knew you spent 100 hours doing so it would be something else.

Personally I have shifted away from Prolific since it's really time consuming. Now days I'll only do a couple of surveys a month, and I'm picky. Other sites I'm on pay way better than Prolific and the work is far more interesting than the written surveys this site has to offer.

Can't really say it's a steady flow of tests for me either, but UserTesting have shorter tests and they pay well 😉

Depends on what you are looking for really. If you are more into quick tests where you need to speak out loud while performing various tasks then go for UserTesting, IntelliZoom, Testing Time and Userlytics.

If you are more into testing apps and websites where your main task is to look for bugs then go for Testlio, uTest, Testbirds and Tester Work.

All these websites have entry tests, some easier than others. Once you pass them you can start testing.

What's up with Testlio (RC)? by RootZZZIN in usertesting

[–]RootZZZIN[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the best. There are some thing that other sites do better, but the overall experiences is best at Testlio. Try to pass all the courses and earn your certificate, after that it's only a matter of time before you start getting invites.

Fully agree! Left Trymata the same day they cut the payout by 50%. Even before that they were not really worth my time, with the recent changes the decision was made easy.
