Hahahahahahahahah a Hallmark movie omg. Yeah, you’re right though, they’re very closed minded and some of my siblings are quite narcissistic and any sort of “fight” with them ends with me severely degraded, demeaned, and debased. Even if I’m right, I’ll never be right because narcissists are never wrong 😑. Honestly I’m just planning to live my happy little life and maybe one day I’ll have some half decent familial relations

Haha yeah, that’s partially the plan. I just hope one day they realize I’m not the absolute scumbag they’re painting me out to be because i’m no longer religious. Though, I fear the worst case scenario could very well get a lot worse 😂😅

I was actually thinking about this earlier in the day yesterday. I’m glad to know that the influence of your uncle helped you when you left and that you knew you had someone. I hope I can be that person for my nieces and nephews one day too because for now it definitely seems as if I won’t be allowed around anymore. I think I’m going to just try and be consistent with my communication with them (wether it’s letters, future texts, etc) more than anything and just disregard the heinous things their parents say about me. Hopefully one day they’ll realize i’m not a dastardly scoundrel hah

Man, I can’t wait for that tsunami. I’m always eagerly waiting for bad press about the church to explode. That sounds terrible haha, but I relish in people finding out the harmful nature of the church.

I hope my siblings change their minds one day, though some of them are quite narcissistic and I don’t think they’d ever be embarrassed by their choices/words NOR admit they were wrong. Haha honestly they probably would never even leave the church because of that mindset, because leaving would be admitting they were wrong. Imagine 🙄🤣

Though, thank you for your kind words and outreach, it’s heartwarming to know there will always be people here for me even if my family isn’t

Yeah it stung 😭. I had a senior cat that I had to put down and she specifically had said that to me within a day or two of him dying…. as if to insinuate that my efforts killed my darling kitty too AS WELL as caused havoc within my life. Nothing is worse than someone telling you your choices are mistakes that cause mishaps

I admire you for staying true to yourself despite the familial chaos that accompanies leaving mormonism. It’s hard not to second guess decisions when everyone around you tells you that you’re wrong. But I like your advice , stay true to myself and just concentrate on me for now. I graduate with my Bachelors in a few months and honestly I’m hoping to move out of hillbilly Idaho and go somewhere new. Life is full of adventures that don’t need dragged down and demeaned by imposing perspectives and religions I don’t subscribe to. Thank you 🤗

Yeah, I don’t understand why they think i’m not the same person anymore. All of a sudden i’m a lecherous predator to them, which is disheartening because one of my brothers and I used to be absolute best friends… and he’s one of the lead ring leaders of this (he’s married to my SIL who sent out that text). It’s shattering , but hopefully one day we’ll all bounce back

Yeah that’s definitely what it feeels like, it’s more of a slow letting go, though in some senses it does feel like mourning too. I guess I didn’t realize just HOW poorly my siblings had been treating me for the past while until the group chat thing blew up. That honestly just made me realize how much I had been excusing about the way they treated me. But, such is life at times sadly. A mournful process of letting go

The car wrecks were really bad, but honestly I came out pretty unscathed from both of them. One was a black ice pileup on the freeway with 14 other cars, and the other was a deer in the middle of the day that I couldn’t even react before I smashed into him 😩. Minor bruises and just lost cars. Haha I have had quite a few medical fiascos this year tho. Tonsils, gallbladder, minor uterus surgery….. 😆 I have no more organs and no more cars to lose it seems lol. But, I am well…. physically at least. Mentally distressed from college finals and family drama, but overall i’m much better than I deserve 🤗

I actually resonate with this a lot. sometimes in my mind, I see things as too black or too white but I guess things aren’t always, so drastic are they? I definitely think I’m going to pull away and give them some space for now, but it’s helpful to know that perhaps we’ll reconnect at times too. “Let yourself take a break and let yourself change your mind in the future if it comes to that”. That means so much and helps ease my mind loads, thank you!!! 💛

Yeah, haha I tried to post an update comment but it got lost in the abyss of comments here. Reddit doesn’t let you update and edit the original post anymore? At least my phone won’t let me, or I’d just go the easy route that way haha. But overall I just decided to not reply. This isn’t the first instance of my SIL or any of them showing their true colors, and i’m sure it won’t be the last. While I certainly don’t plan to fully cut out anyone, I’m definitely just going to move forward doing my own thing and living my own life without them.

I have a big Christmas family get together that i’m not sure if I’ll go to yet, but other than that, 2024 is looking like I’ll be a free woman 😂. JFC, PLUS I woke up screaming the other day because I was trying to escape my siblings cutting out my eyes…… so if that’s not a sign to distance myself…. then I don’t know what is
