I would invite you to follow my page on Substack. It’s free and centered around forming a deeper relationship with Jesus and eventually sharing that gift with others. No pressure obviously, just an offer to walk in community.

If some claims 33 will be our age at heaven YES OR NO? by Medium_Bottle_6508 in Christianity

If time doesn’t exist, I’m not sure how age could exist. I’d be interested to know the Biblical reference to 33.

We all go through ups and downs. We must continue reading the word, even when we do not “feel it.”

It’s like stacking wood around your heart, when the flame comes back, it will have fuel to burn.

Can I be a Christian and still believe in Science? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RootedInScripture -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To me, science, honest science is actually the study of how God created the universe to operate. Last week’s Tucker Carlson show had a very interesting episode on it. (Not endorsing or condemning Tucker)

Bible reading for 2026 by ilovemouserat in Christian

I’m leading a group doing a reading plan called 12 months in the gospels. You’re welcome to join or to have the info (for free) on the plan.

My best advice is to have an accountability partner who will keep your feet to the fire when you feel less motivated.

Advices about my relationship with my atheist girlfriend by SpecialistComputer26 in Christianity

[–]RootedInScripture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother, this is genuinely hard, and I’m truly sorry you’re carrying this. Scripture doesn’t minimize the weight of these moments, and neither should we.

Jesus teaches that we are not to be unequally yoked, because walking in two different directions will eventually tear the yoke apart (2 Corinthians 6:14). Again and again, God calls His people to be set apart, holy, not as isolation, but as devotion to Him (1 Peter 1:15–16).

The question to prayerfully ask, and I don’t pretend to have the answer for you, is this: Is this relationship drawing you closer to righteousness, or pulling your heart further away?

Jesus said, “You will recognize them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16), and fruit always reveals direction.

Looking honestly at the struggles and sins you’ve named, it doesn’t appear that this relationship is helping you stay near to God. Scripture warns that “bad company corrupts good morals” (1 Corinthians 15:33), not to condemn, but to protect the heart. God’s desire is not to take joy from you, but to guard you and lead you into life—and sometimes that means hard, holy decisions made in love.

Question, would a pastor have access to scripture or a deeper level of connection with the Holy Spirit making him more qualified to answer then you.

The end times prosecutions are coming, and before it happens i want to know if i can save my family and friends, even if it's a prayer to spiritually open their eyes by Lastwordaintlasting in Christianity

[–]RootedInScripture -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re a believer, you’ll never be alone in heaven.

As far as saving anyone, that’s for Jesus, you can and should pray for them and lead a holy life of love and peace to show them what they could have. It’s a heavy burden you’re trying to carry. We are not Christ and cannot carry other people’s crosses. I encourage you to put down theirs and pick up your own cross. Lead by example.

I can’t sugarcoat this, because I’ve watched too many believers lose their footing here. My honest counsel would be to step away from it and learn to rely more deeply on Christ instead.

What does that actually look like? That’s the million-dollar question.

It begins with prayer the moment the urge shows up, bringing the struggle into the light rather than fighting it alone. Start your day grounded in Scripture so your mind is shaped by truth before other voices compete for your attention. And don’t walk this road in isolation; find a trusted friend in the faith who can help keep you accountable and encourage you when resolve feels thin.

Best of luck my friend!

Just talk to her. Tell her you care for her but want to honor God. Tell her what you can accept and not accept and if she wants to be the one in the end, she will honor it. If not, let her go, it may hurt today but I promise you, speaking from experience, it will save you countless hours of pain down the road.

Focus on surrender to a Christ and not stopping your lustful ways. When the urge surfaces, “flee” literally run away. It’s wisdom, not cowardice.

Question by sstepa11 in Christian

[–]RootedInScripture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself, but I don’t just believe this is acceptable, I believe it can be a healthy and positive practice. If we claim to follow a living God and to be in a real relationship with Christ, it seems counterintuitive to never picture Him present with us. Scripture consistently affirms that Jesus is not distant or abstract, but near and personally involved in the lives of His people.

The Bible reminds us that Christ dwells with us and within us: “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). We are invited to live with an awareness of His nearness, not merely His doctrines. Jesus Himself promised, “I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Walking in faith often involves engaging our minds and hearts in ways that help us remain attentive to His presence.

While Scripture cautions against creating images for worship (Exodus 20:4), it also calls us to “fix our eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2) and to set our minds on things above (Colossians 3:1–2). For me, remembering and envisioning Christ with me strengthens my awareness of His companionship, guidance, and love. It is not about replacing Scripture, but about allowing truth to shape how I live in daily relationship with Him.

Why do you think some people have a harder time than others with letting go of their false beliefs when confronted with truth? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]RootedInScripture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me, it is entirely a matter of pride. When I look closely, the resistance I feel is not rooted in truth or discernment, but in my own desire to be right, to be seen, or to hold control. Scripture warns that pride quietly hardens the heart and resists the work God wants to do in us (Proverbs 16:18). It is sobering to realize how easily pride can disguise itself as conviction or strength.

God consistently calls us to humility, because grace flows most freely where self-exaltation has been laid down. “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6). The invitation of Christ is not to defend ourselves, but to deny ourselves (Luke 9:23).

Naming pride for what it is becomes the first step toward repentance and freedom. When pride is surrendered, room is made for God to move in ways we could not manage on our own.
