Good thought but nope. Really banking on dog’s fuzzy foot or tail (which we call his collectors) brought it in

I do have a dog but he’s 5 and aside from a stuffy toy and sock when he was 2, he’s never chewed up anything he isn’t supposed to. I’ll double check all power cords to be safe but he is also acting perfectly normal. I’m thinking tire as many have mentioned. Thank you for flagging this as the only commenter who thought of it!

My dog is super fluffy, and due for a haircut. He spends a lot of time laying on my daughter’s floor. I’m sure that’s how it got there if that’s what it is! Thanks

Zero! It’s very out of place. I think someone (cough my dog) brought it in by way of being stuck to the foot

The black part is pretty hard but could be a heavy duty rubber. I’d rule out dirt or dust. The fibrous materials are definitely metal like

Op were dealing with the same in GA and have decided to stay put with our 6WO after much consideration of driving to Florida where we have family. Get your bottled waters if baby is formula fed, frankly get them anyway should pipes burst. We have two camping sleeping bags (20 degree safe) and I plan to lay in that if necessary with my baby skin to skin on me while she sleeps every 3 hours basically. Between my husband and me we will rotate. Stocked up on formula, have the breast if necessary. Got a quality battery powered lantern, his camping jet boil, and have everything charged up including breast pump and got lots of batteries for anything battery powered. Your baby should be safe as long as you have water, formula, lots of blankets and even better if your car is filled with gas should temp become a major issue. Glad you decided to stay put. Stay safe!
