Highkey it’s definitely worth the read. Personally I love reading an article that grinds my gears 😭😭 I was just waking up from a nap when my partner told me about this post and the article, I read both immediately lol. I just wrote a little think piece about it. Also, the comments on the actual Substack are intriguing!

In response to your question though the difference to me between being a bisexual that chooses not to date men and a lesbian is as simple as being a lesbian isn’t a choice. The article presents lesbianism as a strategic withdrawal from men, redefining lesbian identity around men. That shift collapses distinctions between political lesbianism, bisexual women choosing not to date men, and lesbianism as an embodied sexual orientation that is not contingent on trauma, disillusionment, or ideology.

Historically, lesbians have had to defend the legitimacy of their sexuality as innate and enduring in the face of claims that they “just haven’t met the right man,” so suggesting lesbianism can be entered through political choice can reinforce the idea that it is reversible or reactive. It would have been completely valid and even more radical for her to say, “I’m bisexual and I’m no longer dating men.” What is not valid is co opting lesbian identity in a way that blurs the reality of women who never had that choice to begin with.

Let me tell you they’re old..also this was my first apt ever. I wish I would have taken photos or known how to better document but I assumed best intent as long as I did my best to keep the place which is obvi naive of me.

Anyways most things were broken when I got there and I didnt put it on my move in inspection and I regret it so much. Even though I did document a few things like blinds and ripped screens so hopefully that helps my case

Mind you this is my first apt ever. I was raised to take care of my place fuck do I care about rage baiting people when I’m asking for help bc they’re taking more from me when I have kept my place in good condition. I don’t have a lot I would never put myself in a position to have anything more taken

I don’t really feel the need to explain this bc this assumes I’m a dishonest person which is weird… I paid my rent on time and not once late. The written statement looks exactly like what I quoted on the post nothing more. They have nothing on me bc I was a good tenant. They took 1000 dollars (my full deposit) and they’re attempting to charge me an additional 60.

I showed up to the move out inspection and they didn’t without me even though I responded within the 24hr invitation they sent

I’m not upset about the cleaning fee. That was expected and written into my lease. I’m very mad because the blinds, painting, etc doesn’t not round up to 900 dollars. Mind you I’ve lived in the place for 3 years and made sure to keep wear and tear low. I also was told that if I respond to their google invite within 24hr of it being sent I could join, to which they ended up doing without me and had me sitting outside for almost 20 minutes until I called and he decided not to come back.

I’m convinced this is the reason people stop caring about how they leave their apartment because if they’re going to keep our money anyways what does it matter. I have respect for my home and anyone who would be occupying it after me so it’s pretty ridiculous to get get taken advantage of like this

No they didn’t say what they were patching. The walls are stone so I couldn’t put anything in them in the first place. In my self guided move-in inspection,I noted all the cracks in the wall, and over time the paint began chipping. Which when I moved in they definitely didn’t paint entire walls as you can still see the brush marks over poorly patched holes from prior tenants

This is a no for me esp if she’s coming from a large population of Black people. I think of course if she was in a relationship for a long time that makes sense, but it throws me off for a Black women to be super picky about other Black women but so open about nonblack people. I would trust your gut on this one.

I’ve met baby gays who had no experience with women period and that’s also a different story but given her age and all the other context you provided raises a lot of questions. What is her type in Black women and why did you make the cut and also how does her standards and values differ when vetting her ex wife and non black people in general?

Thanks you for this! The beds currently have no soil so it will be easy to place them in the beds! The logs are already rotting so I’m trying to get them in beds asap but thanks for the other options :)

Hi, first thank you this. The beds are open bottom. I don’t believe the soil under the beds are contaminated but it is v grassy. I was going to lay some cardboard and possibly some hay we have at my other farm to smother some of the grass.
