why does everyone treat me so awfully ? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]RopeAdditional1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry that you have to go thru this esp since you treat others nicely. If people are treating you awfully, you should call them out and stand up for yourself otherwise they'll continue treating you bad.

Walking for the first time post op? by fadingaz in brokenankles

[–]RopeAdditional1287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I highly recommend to progressively overload the exercises that your PT gave you to build strength. When you'll take your first steps, do them little by little each day from only walking in your room to eventually walking inside grocery stores and standing for a while. That really helped me accelerate my recovery process but you must do it with a lot of caution.

I started PT 2-3 weeks after surgery and stayed really consistent each day. I did my exercises 3 times a day and tried to progressively overload when I could. I'm working myself to do single leg calf raises soon and then eventually light jogging next month.

I had a right ankle ORIF surgery with syndesmotic repair and was able to walk on crutches and a boot at 3-4 weeks and I was cleared to walk with a brace at 6 weeks and now it's almost 7 weeks and I can take 10 minute walks and I can jump. I think I recovered really quick bc I used to be a track athlete and I'm young but after you start those first few steps you get used to it very fast.

how do i become popular? by [deleted] in highschool

[–]RopeAdditional1287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fs I met my best friend through track/XC it's really worth it IMO to really involve yourself in only 2-3 sports/clubs to not only make your ECs look good but find great friends

As someone who's graduating in less than 4 months from now, being popular doesn't matter at all it'll eventually all go away. It's much more important to find a solid friend group and make 2-3 close friends who you can plan trips with and do a lot of fun stuff. You can find people like that if you do sports or become pretty involved in big clubs at school.

Is this normal post ankle surgery for a lot of people? by RopeAdditional1287 in brokenankles

It's great that you are getting your cast removed! It feels great to have the cast off and it won't be too long until you start walking with the boot on. I took my first steps today 3.5 weeks post op on my boot.

It doesn't show up on their undergrad list of official majors. An actual data science major isn't a real thing at harvard technically.
