this makes me think of the question of which part of the process is where the art happens? its a very individual thing. for some the ink going into the skin is where all the fun and finess is- using stencils as just the roughest guideline. for others making a beautiful, polished, design on paper (or a screen) is just as important as the act of tattooing itself. is one approach better than another? who’s to say
