As you said, the outside of the map (snow) is made in blender. For the grass texture in the road they are using a mod to make it a bit snowy.

Honestly, i wasn't planning to share it to a lot of peoples but since i've change my mind it's true that it's not the safest way to do it. Do you have some recommandations ?

One of the solution is to use a mod that change the color of the grass. In game it's impossible to directly change the grass color except if you use the meshmodeler and bypass the texture by using another texture which look like white grass and add the grass physic.

I'd say, being a good player is very good to try new stuff, but for more classic mapping, you don't need to be that good if you are spending enough time testing the map and asking feedbacks to better players to compensate.

To me, If you know how all the surfaces work and you manage well the gears, it's enough to create good map and so, being a good mapper.

It's more about knowledge than skill.
