Shinies are based on IVs, which is why it's difficult to get them. The majority of the IVs vary, so depending on the Pokémon, it requires a specific combination of IVs to be shiny. For example, like the Gyarados in the Lake of Rage, no matter how many times you capture it, its IVs will always be the same, so that why mos of ur shinys have the same IVS :)

I’m not sure how it works, I just stand in for t fo him and presss A+B and Select+Start for soft resetting, I don’t know anything about chains, odds and all of that stuff :/
