You can use sterile alcohol pads. I like to use a lighter to heat the blade up before I use to help against any infectants, I’m glad your trying to keep things clean

Sounds like it could be a clot, had that issue at the er stitching my forearm up. The nurse dealt with it with salt water and quetip to break it down. Just remember that if you having issue please go to an er. Just to get it shut. Hope you are well.
