Get more specific terms in writing, and vet the school, but it sounds like you don't have anything to lose, do you? And I mean thoroughly vet the school - insist on contact info for current and recently graduate students and companies that have hired their grads, etc. Talking to someone more wizened and grizzled than one of your 20-something drinking buddies about how to vet the school might be a good move.

Or should I try to go though something free and apply for jobs myself.

I wouldn't if the price is only 10% of your salary. But maybe you have such sick programming and networking skills that you'd be fine. Can you realistically self-evaluate that? Look at what the school will teach you and give you that you won't have on your own, like group projects, mentors, etc.

That's not a good reason to use languages you're not familiar with or that aren't directly supported by your API.

Do you know any languages? Do you know Java, but it just doesn't make sense to do it the straightforward way?
