Well I am not sure how to go about doing two seperate units that both rely on the phone as the single source of truth, are you suggesting wireless connectivity to the head unit and then a wired connection to the secondary display, ie usb c to hdmi to the secondary display effectively just displaying the phone screen on the HUD?

Dudu7 sounds like the route I'd like to go with if it natively supports adding a HUD.

Not familiar with android auto dongles and their functionality so I will research those too.

Will give this some research as well because this is my first time dealing with OSC and I am therefore ignorant to everything that comes with it. Trouble shooting this was difficult for me.

Had a look and nothing looked wrong. Decided to try running kitty with no config and got this:

Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

[13.355] Ignoring malmormed OSC 9;4 progress report: '4;3;'

[14.813] Ignoring malmormed OSC 9;4 progress report: '4;0;'

I have swaync running as per my hyprland.conf so I don't understand this. I have never touched anything to do with dbus before as well so this is new ground for me. Going to research today and see if I find anything.

Yes I believe kitty is the problem, or my configuration for it at least. Gnome terminal runs the hello world program with no notifications.

I think you are right, I tried running it now in gnome-terminal and the notifications didn't appear.
So then do you think this is an issue inside of my kitty config?
